The team at L'Alpaga were first class. Best in class service. The decor was lovely, the rooms were amazing. And thre facilities were really really good (the outdoor hot tub was a fave, the cosy nook in the lobby, the spa area). Love the Dyptique toiletries 😁. The hotel restaurants were amazing. Breakfast was delicious (those croissants!) and the coffee they serve is some of the best ive had. Not to mention the michelin star the restaurant La Table de l'Alpaga, that was phenomenal. The team there are amazing and doing a stellar job (food was a dream obviously). A few points that i noticed: - It would be great to have an airing room for drying clothes after skiing, our room became a bit of a laundry room/mess as we had no where to store/dry our post ski clothes. - it would be lovely if there were a few more hooks in the room just to hang up clothes (not even to dry them just to keep them out of the way) rather than on the door of the cupboards - i know its meant to be eco-friendly, but the sauna takes hours (like 3+) to heat up, and sometimes doesnt even get hot enough and the fire just dies out These are tiny tiny things i noticed from an otherwise excellent hotel. So great in fact that i hope to stay there again next time i go skiing.…
We loved our stay at Alpaga! The staff are so lovely and went above and beyond to help our family with anything and everything we needed. We were there on a skiing trip and they helped us with all the recommendations including the closest ski shop, booked ski lessons for us and arranged anything that we needed. The hotel has a comfortable elegance which helped to make our stay special. The food is delicious and we always found it easy to get to town and back. We will absolutely be back!!
Amazing experience ! The rooms were beautiful, the spa is cozy and nice to use. The staff were all great.. Richard had helped me book all my restaurants and activities ! Great hotel and great location super nice staff. Not so far from ski lifts, the breakfast is really great with lots of varieties and quality. The dinner at 2 Michelin star restaurant La’Table is an experience you cant miss. Thank you Alpaga team for a great experience
Staff super helpful and welcoming. Service was always fast. All the meals were faultless. Rooms and facilities are perfect. When we come for only 2 night and 2 days of skiing, everything needs to work just right, the hotel made sure of it. Would definitely come again. Highly recommend.
We stayed for two nights in a deluxe room. On the plus side: - the room and bathroom were very clean - the room was comfortable generally - great shower - the bedding was very nice - breakfast was excellent, especially when taken on the terrace - secure and free parking - good WiFi. Not so good: - some staff were very direct including the receptionist who took us to our room. Customer service could be improved - the balcony of our deluxe double room (number 10 - avoid) was above the entrance to the restaurant and was therefore noisy. The view was either of a large construction crane, another hotel room directly opposite (we spent an hour looking at our neighbours and them at us) or the bar terrace - not the mountains, and not what we had expected - no air conditioning and the room was mostly too hot - we were bombarded with emails before we arrived including telling us to pay seven in advance or our booking would be cancelled (in contravention of our booking conditions) and to send our passport details - no chance! There was not much atmosphere at the hotel. Nobody was using the bar terrace or public areas when we were there and the restaurant had few customers. To note, some previous reviews refer to a shuttle bus. This is no longer provided and it’s a 30 minute walk to the town centre if you don’t want to drive. We were ok with this but the hotel is not near the town centre. …
We booked pretty last minute. We were put in a room near an elevator which was pretty noisy initially but the management and I would like to point out Svetlana in particular really made our stay memorable. She was able to propose another room the following day with a great view and dryed our wet clothes in record time! They have great facilities to keep families and couples occupied such as their free norwegian bath but also their sauna with a view. Not to mention a weekly board of activities some free like yoga classes or wine tasting to paying ones such a well being walks (with Guillaume... totally recommend this!) Or paragliding. The food at this hotel is simply exquisite breakfast has cold options and warm options which are made with love by their in house michelin starred chef! I fell in love with their gluten free cookies! To die for! The service in the restaurant is exceptional especially Thanh (Vietnamese server) who worked selflessly morning and evening! Dedicated staff and good service point to a great overall experience! The hotel is a bit secluded so you do need a car. They have a huge private underground parking too so very convenient. But with a car you are in the center of Megeve in 5 minutes! …
We had a wonderful stay at Alpaga hotel. The service was outstanding, the food fantastic and the views from the balcony peaceful and beautiful. We have stayed in many good five star hotels around the world, but this was among the top three breakfasts we have had. Will definitely go back
The 2 stars Michelin is on its way for a third one. The food is better and better. Safety Covid measures are strictly enforced. The vegetarian menu is worth trying and A la carte is excellent. Our preferred restaurant in Megeve
It is clear that the concern of coronavirus is is escalated globally. Just today another case has been reported in those mountains. I tried to call the hotel to cancel my booking , postpone or figure a solution out with the hotel for my stay. However, since I did my booking through travel agency the management REFUSED to speak to me over the phone or reply to my emails. It is very sad to know that since they’ve already collected my money, their service is not a concern for them. The lady that answered the line called Juliet closed the line refusing to talk to me. I really want to cancel my reservation since I’m frustrated not because of the virus, but because of this extremely bad customer service. I’ve never faced such thing bad service from a hotel.
We go two to three times a year to Alpaga. The service is friendly yet very professional. The chef who earned his second star this year is extremely talented yet very accessible and eager to share his passion. The products are very carefully selected . En route for the third star. Congratulations
