we enjoyed the silence and privacy of the little chalet (mazot cristal). it offered enough space for two with a beautiful view from the windows and the terrace. unfortunately weather did not permit us to sit outside this time. breakfast was excellent and the use of teh indoor swimming pool was nice.

We have just returned from a magical 4 night stay at Flocon, that included 3 full days skiing and one unforgettable dinner in the restaurant. On arrival, we were slightly concerned that we had arrived at a slightly stuffy restaurant with rooms, that was really quiet and a long way out of town. We couldn't have been more wrong. The staff were outstanding and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. Let's start with the room. It was spacious, luxurious and had wonderful views. Very peaceful. The Spa is really well appointed and the pool great. Make sure to look out the hot tub. The skiing was really good and made ever so easy, by the staff organising the lift passes and the shuttle service to and from the lifts. And then the food......We ate in the Bistro in town on the first night, that was lively, with a great atmosphere and really good food. On our second night, we ate in our room....after a full days skiing we were exhausted. Despite the fact we had club sandwiches and a plate of cheese... the staff were so accommodating and made every effort to make it special. Finally we ate in the main restaurant on our third night. And we were simply blown away. The Renaut's were incredible hosts and it was an experience we will never forget. We won't spoil it by giving too much away.....but believe me you will not be disappointed. All in all, the hotel, restaurant and staff made our ski weekend the best ever. We will definitely be back...when my bank balance has recovered.

We have been travelling to Megève for the first time this winter, and we stayed at Flocons de Sel for 1 week. Everything was absolutely excellent. The Superior Room was very large with an amazing view of the snowy valley. The bed was very large and comfortable and allowed us a full rest. The only small remark, is not so much with this hotel, but with a design trend in most hotels, where the bathroom is not separated from the room, and if one needs to access the bathroom at night, the person in bad would be disturbed by the light. But overall, this was an incredibly nice and well appointed room. Everyone, was exceptionally nice, and extremely helpful, even above and beyond what is expected in a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was impressive in the quality of the food. We had also the pleasure to dine at the gastronomic restaurant and it was an experience to remember. The food was definitely among the best we ever tasted, with lot of interesting flavours and techniques. I also really loved the pairing with wines from Savoie. Overall this was one of the best holidays we had, and I can’t remember a time we were made feel so welcome in a hotel, and this allowed us to completely relax. We definitely want to come back!

Given that this is a five star hotel in the Relais and Chateaux portfolio I was very underwhelmed and disappointed in the overall stay. The hotel was practically empty with only 2 other couples staying at the time of our stay, however they put us all clustered in one part of the hotel on top of each other. There was absolutely no privacy. If you had your window open you could hear the other guests, as if they were in your room. If you went out on the balcony you could see and hear the other guests both beside and below your room. When I requested to be moved to a more private room they did accommodate my request and put us in a large suite with 3 rooms which was very nice. The hotel restaurant was closed so we had to shuttle in to town for meals. The overall hotel layout was strange and didn't make any sense as it didn't add to the privacy of any of the rooms. The elevator safety was questionable as it jolted loudly and the floor boards moved each time it started and stopped, you felt as if you were taking your life in your hands every time. Poor craftsmanship throughout including large cracks in the plaster in several places in the long hall with male dominated chefs portraits. The decor in the rooms was odd and mismatched not at all what you would expect from a five star hotel. No plugs or charging stations on any of the nightstands. Terrible lighting throughout especially the bathroom vanity. The spa had a nice pool and outdoor deck but a tiny 2 person hot tub(that wasn't hot) and strange layout with the steam room downstairs in the basement next to exercise equipment facing the wall. The setting and location of the hotel was quite nice with beautiful views of the valley and mountains surrounding. The staff was accommodating although it felt as if they were under staffed the entire stay. The breakfast and snacks that came with drinks were excellent. I only wish we could have experienced the on site restaurant for lunch or dinner at least once during our stay. I would not stay here again, sadly the price does not match the experience.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Flocons (our third). The dinner was spectacular - amazingly innovative flavor combinations, beautifully presented. Our only regret was not being able to spend more time there. However, receiving an automated "dear sir or madam" request for a review was entirely out of keeping with the highly personalised welcome and service at the chalet.
