Hello, I need to share that sadly MamaShelter in not suited for internal business travelers. The hotel has no travel plug-adaptors to lend, the staff sends you off for a 30 minute walk ride to go buy one, and when I returned, i actually saw in one of the hotel "items to sell list" that they actually sell these right at the reception desk... Which means the staff is not even trained to support such requests. When I gave them feedback, they barely apologize too. I will not chose this hotel next time I come for work in Lyon.
Due to bad weather conditions and amazing traffic jams we decided to make a stop o in Lyon. Without reservation we popped up at the reception of the mama shelter in Lyon and we were lucky as there were some free rooms. The check in was performed by a very friendly and polite guy and we feel more than welcome….. the room was directly available and was great. Once installed we went down to the restaurant which was more than full and overbooked. Luckily we get 2 places on the bar and we had a great dining experience in a more than trendy and lounge atmosphere…..great dinner and cocktails, all was more than perfect! The same for the day after for the breakfast….. All in one we did not regret our choice and we can more than warmly recommend this hotel as well the restaurant of the hotel! Excellent value for money!…
Stayed with the family, Check in , not very pleasant. , Cleanliness of the room is very very questionable. Parking, have to pay extra and very uncomfortable, small. Bar trendy, cool, live music. Breakfast was good, all you need., probably the best part of the stay. Would, i go back? probably no.
Nice rooms, very welcoming and helping staff at the front desk. Clean rooms, cool bar, good atmosphere. Hotel is well located 200-300m from a metro station and nearby coffee shops and restaurants. Did not have breakfast, so I can not comment on that. Go there!
Excellent hotel, fun, original, the restaurant is really great (make a reservation during the week end as it can be "packed" in the evening). the staff is really nice and efficient. rooms are very comfortable even the small ones. Prices are reasonable. breakfast is incredibly good (la Brioche is a "must try". 10 minutes walking from the city center. in a very safe and quiet area. I strongly recommend this hotel in Lyon.
We found a good rate for this hotel that I've been wanting to try for a while. I'm glad we did - it's definitely quite a unique concept amidst a sea of generic hotels in Lyon. It's design focused with lots of graffiti/street art elements everywhere. All the staff at the front desk and restaurants and young and funny (many speak good English too). To be honest I'm not a big fan of this style so the decor didn't speak to me. The room is good even complete with a small "kitchen" with a sink and microwave. The bed is very comfortable. Lots of free movies on offer on the TV. Fast wifi. Sound insulation was so-so, we could hear our neighbours coming and going. I felt like the room was a bit too "busy" with the graffiti carpet and huge lighted mirror next to the bed. The restaurant / bar is super popular esp. on a Friday night with young locals filling up the place (even a bouncer out front - a rare sight at a hotel!), but you can't hear any noise in the room. Quite an impressive range at breakfast. The vibe at the restaurant is completely different in daylight. The neighbourhood is a bit rough and slightly far from the city centre. Overall we had an enjoyable stay and I'd recommend for young travellers.…
Funky decorations and staff pretty helpful, but missing the extra oomph to make it special. Food was ok, but formulaic and nothing special. We found the room layout a bid odd, but had everthing we needed for weekend stay.
The hotel is vibrant and super fun and cool. The design, the decor all super happy and modern which I love. The staff really friendly. A few technical issues which was a bit frustrating. To use the TV you need to scan the QR code. I found it super cool as no one wants to touch a remote control theses days. However you still need to connect to the hotel WIFi and to do so you need to switch on the TV using the remote control. So not very practical and still makes you touch the remote control. The roof top has great views over the city. The only problem is people smoking everywhere. It’s rather disgusting having to be in a place where people are blowing that stinky smoke in your face. I guess this is a France problem. They allow people to smoke everywhere. 🤮. It is also super slow. They took ages to sit us and there a few tables empty. Then toke ages to take our order and then to bring the drinks. The breakfast buffet is quite nice. But with the new rules regarding corona virus it was nice that we couldn’t touch anything. The staff would serve you. However it caused massive delays. As they don’t have much staff and you have to wait to be served. The bed is really comfortable and we had a great night of sleep. …
Went to the rooftop for the first time. Staff was awesome and friendly. We had a cup of wine with some burrata. The food was lovely and the view very peaceful. Great time to spend with family or friends! Desserts also is great ❤❤(love the Tarte aux fraises)
Great food, design, and ambiance. We enjoyed the terrace and the bar on the evening! A plus in this hotel. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and full of light. Our stay did definitely meet our expectations.
