What a find! Stayed here with kids after a week skiing before a morning flight home. Tastefully furnished in a historic characterful townhouse with a very friendly proprietor, and all for the price of a travel-lodge. Wandered round town and ate in one of Lyon's gastros at night, in the morning climbed the 50,000 steps to the cathedral in the...

Hotelo is unusual in many ways. As I arrived late, I was welcome by a friendly gentleman. However at that point, I did not feel completely reassured that I was staying in a professional hotel, to me it felt more like a hostel, maybe because of the fact that the entrance was just beside what looked like a highway. My...

Well-situated in the Presqu-ile, an easy 5 mins walk north of Perrache station. Small but thoughtfully laid out room (eg access to electrical sockets, good sound insulaton). Spotlessly clean. Staff very pleasant and helpful with local information. Charming communal areas with a light airy breakfast room.

It's establishments like Hotelo that make me shy away from the big hotel chains. Sometimes, nothing is more important than making a genuine connection between host and guest. I first experienced this hospitality when I inadvertently booked the wrong dates. I sent an email to change the dates and the next day, the team replied and said they moved my...

Like most reviewers have noted, it's not all about how up-to-date or luxurious a hotel is, it's all about the service and friendliness of staff and a level of cleanliness and attention to detail. In this respect Hotelo fits the bill. As soon as we arrived Olivier made us feel welcome and during our 4 night stay we had continual...

The staff and owner of this hotel could not have been more friendly, halpful and welcoming. The hotelo is situated very close to the Gare Perrache, and is an excellent spot to visit Lyon on foot comfortably. Back at the hotelo after a long day, a cup of tea was a welcome that was truely appreciated. So much so that...
