It was my first experience of a solo ski trip and it didn't dissapoint, with my expectations met in every aspect of the holiday. The accommodation is excellently placed in Morzine with everything nearby that you need. Holly and Phil were simply superb hosts, Phil cooked the most sumptuous 3 course meals and home baked cakes every day, and took pride in telling us all how it was prepared. Holly was very knowledgeble of Morzine, and was always on hand to take us in the mornings and collect us. She helped to arrange any extras (like meals out and massages) and both of them really made the trip for me. The added extras of the hot tub and sauna as well as an honesty bar meant that all your needs were catered for.

The ski area (PDS) for those of you who don't know is amazing, vast slopes, great variety and you will cover lots of KMs!

Great value for money, everything included that you need and I've definitely made friends with like minded people.

100% will definitely be returning.

Came across cold fusion when looking for ski companies for solo travellers and I’m so glad a did! The intro to off piste week, with 4 half days ski guiding, was the perfect choice, even got a bit of powder for the end of the week. From the first contact with Steve and Nicky, nothing was too much trouble, and although flights were booked separately, transfers to and from resort ran smoothly. The chalet was lovely and offered all the amenities you could ask for, including 2 hot tubs, games area and areas for socialising. It was perfectly positioned, only a short walk from the lift up to the Grand Montets ski area, while the cold fusion team are on hand with transport to the other ski areas, even over to Courmayeur one day. There was 12 guests, ranging in ages from late 20s to mid 50s and everybody got on really well, couldn’t have asked for a better bunch. A 3 course meal was prepared 5 nights a week, accompanied with some really nice local wines, while recommendations and transports provided on the other 2 nights. The staff were all amazing and did everything to ensure a fantastic holiday, already planning a return trip, hopefully later in the season!

The booking process was efficient and helpful. Lots of pre-trip information was provided.
Airport transfers were timely, comfortable and quite short.
The chalet is quite large compared to most that I have stayed in, especially the lounge /dining area. There's a sauna and hot tub available too, although they're not my thing.

The staff were incredibly helpful and did everything possible to make my holiday enjoyable. Their minibus transfers to the ski areas were invaluable as the ski buses were packed.

Food and Wine were plentiful and the quality of the wine was much better than the usual chalet paint stripper.

Cold Fusion are pretty expensive, but post-Brexit catered chalets are now thin on the ground. Being able to book as a solo skier is a great bonus, as there aren't many options available for us singles.

The location of the Chalet in Les Houches isn't great for the apres ski crowd, and the local ski area is limited so the availability of the mini-buses to get to the other areas is an absolute must. Without them my holiday would have been completely ruined due to bad weather and lack of snow.

Overall, well done Cold Fusion.

I stayed with Cold Fusion in Morzine, sharing with a friend. The group we had was great and the service from the chalet host and chef was outstanding. The food really was exceptional. The room, however, was very disappointing, especially for the price (£2,200 between us for room and board for the week). As you can see from the pictures, our room opened into the lounge, a few feet from where everyone sat and socialised (the pic of the dining table is taken from our doorway). It had zero sound proofing. We were woken 6ish each morning (even using ear plugs) when the chef came in to prepare breakfast (the kitchen backed onto our room) and was unavoidably banging around with crockery and pans etc, then couldn’t sleep until the last person had gone to bed. The front door was also directly next to our door, which meant more disturbance throughout the night. While I am a late night person and used to noise living in central London, it became exhausting when there was no choice to get rest. Others would stay up late some nights, then retreat early other nights to recover, but we had no possibility of doing that. The owner’s solution to this was to announce to everyone at the start of the holiday that, as the chalet was small, people should be mindful of noise. Obviously, this doesn’t work - people book a chalet holiday to socialise in the chalet and so clearly there will be noise late at night if one of the rooms is directly onto the only living space and not soundproofed.
The bedroom itself was very small. The door to the balcony wouldn’t open as one bed was in the way, and the bathroom door also couldn’t open fully due to the proximity of the other bed. Our beds were less than an arm stretch apart.
Had it been a budget break, I would have understood, but for the price we paid, I felt it was very poor. We paid the same price as everyone else in the chalet and yet the other rooms were totally different - much more private, away from the noise and significantly larger. Had I been in another room, I would have been very happy and given the holiday 5 stars. So although I would recommend the holiday overall in a decent room, I would suggest checking what room you will have as the one we had really did interfere with our enjoyment. We wouldn’t have booked it had we been pre-warned and we would have moved accommodation had there been any other availability in Morzine.

I love the resort of Morzine- Avoriaz, this was my 4th Cold Fusion experience. Chalet Eagle is right smack bang in the centre of Morzine. Our Hosts this season were Hollie & Phil they catered to my every request. From the moment you arrive at Geneva airport, you’ll have received a text to direct you to Mountain Dropoffs to be transferred in style to Morzine or Chamonix. Just over an hour transfer time depending on how many Dropoffs en route.
The Chalet itself has a large hot tub & sauna, which is ideal to get some heat into the muscles at the end of an exhilarating day on the slopes. As I stated Chalet eagle could not be more centrally located. You have the Carrefour supermarket no more than 2 minutes from the chalet. There is a plethora of Bars, cafes, bakeries , gift shops within minutes walking distance.
In the morning Hollie would drop us at whatever Lift station we desired to ride and do pickups around 4pm.
Though you can walk back to the chalet from Le Pleney lift which is less than 10min walk (all downhill).
Every afternoon on arriving back Phil had usually baked something delightful, my favourite was the bread & butter pudding sprinkled with chocolate!
Dinner is served at 7:30 each evening, so plenty time to chillax on coming back from the slopes or if your particular poison is Apres Ski!
My stay was 2 weeks in duration as it means your not pushed to Ski/board everyday. Also let’s you take the opportunity to have a massage organised by Hollie through
Massage Me, these guys were top drawer, I had 2 massages, 1 each week.
I really couldn’t fault the whole experience, the only thing we can’t control in the present time is the snow, but I think I timed this one quite well.
Great trip, if your thinking of improving or learning Skiing or Snowboarding don’t think twice, these guys are awesome!

My first ever solo ski holiday. After 30 years of skiing with friends I chose Cold Fusion
and they did not disappoint. I was on the over 50's at Chalet Chalupa, a lovely chalet
with sauna and hot tub. The bedrooms do vary in size so if you can afford it I would suggest going for the premium twins. Pillows were a bit big for my liking. Ed and Mikaela were excellent with advice, service and transporting us to restaurants and ski resorts. A special mention to the chef who worked hard all the time and the food was excellent. As the resorts are not linked it did mean leaving the chalet at 08.30 or 09.00 each day which was a bit of a shock as I normally do not get booted until 09.30. Transfers from and to the airport worked very well, around 1 to 1 hour 20 mins. If I do not ski with my friends next year I would certainly use Cold Fusion again, provided my ageing body holds up. One last comment, as a solo,
meeting other solo's can make you anxious but the group of 13 others, age range 50 to 72,were the perfect group. We all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the week and get on with each other. Top marks to my group.

Another fab trip with Cold Fusion!! This is my 4th trip with the team (last in 2018) and they didn’t disappoint. Lovely super clean well equipped chalet with hot tub and sauna, comfy beds, loads of delicious food and super welcoming staff (Ed and Mikeala) and most important a great group of solo skiers. We were ferried about the ensure region even heading into Courmayeur and St Gervais. The chalet is in Les Houches which is quieter than Chamonix town center but perfectly located for a hard week on the slopes and the Kitch Inn still good for apres!
Cold Fusion isn’t the cheapest but for the quality and the connection to like minded skiers in a quality environment with great food you can’t go wrong: yes the Wi-Fi might be a bit out of sorts but I wasn’t planning to work and it was ample for my needs as was reception for roaming!
Thanks Cold Fusion team for a fabulous week!!!

2nd trip with Cold Fusion, 1st time at Morzine. Chalet is located centrally in town, and although Holly was always obliging with the pick up and drop offs, it allowed a certain amount of freedom, which was welcomed. You can walk from the chalet to the lift, and stop off at the plentiful bars, and restaurants enroute.

The Ski area, is a great mix for all levels. You obviously can't pick your fellow chalet inhabitants, but was very pleased with the great mix of people staying at the same time as me. A mix of boarders and skiers, but also ability, allowing us to have company on the slopes as we wished. Holly was quick to set up a whats app group, that allowed us to coordinate meet ups on the slopes amongst ourselves. Phil, our Chef for the week was amazing, producing the most beautiful, and filling food, complemented by great wine choosen by Holly.

If your nervous about travelling solo, dont be, and if you still are... Cold Fusion are great at providing a balance between an independant holiday and a supported trip.

Disappointing New Year celebration at chalet Chalupa. I had hoped to celebrate a festive end of year in the mountains and booked with Cold Fusion. Whilst the chalet was well equipped , comfortable and very clean ( superb sauna. hot tub and open fire) the meal arranges left a lot to be desired. Eating a mediocre meal in an Italian pizzeria in an extremely noisy ambiance was not what I had come for. I realise it may be difficult to replace a sick chef on short notice but an organisation such as Cold Fusion which prides itself on exclusive service should have a fall back option in times of Covid. Influença or other fall ou of staff.

Positive points : good ambiance , plenty of champagne and very friendly chalet staff.
Could do with a handrail on the very slippery stairs and better wifi!

In future I’ll stick to club med again!

Third time with Cold Fusion and I already knew it would be another amazing week to remember. Accommodation was via Hotel Le Prieure rather than the usual chalet (which is no longer an option). It's always great meeting new people with the same interests and we had the same agenda for the week. Steve was an awesome host, making sure we were all at the right locations at the right times, managing to cover 7 resorts in 6 days! The hotel was great as a base for a change, although a bit more formal than the previous chalet arrangement. Eating out options were plentiful and we covered most styles of cuisine (mostly organised by Steve). Covid restrictions were manageable enough with the Passe Sanitaire system, so no issues there. Blue skies every day (unfortunately no powder, but enough snow) and it has been another trip to add to the memory banks. Definitely intending to come back next year!

Hi Dennis, thanks for your message. Cold Fusion Chalets currently only offer winter ski and snowboard holidays from Dec - April and so we are unable to help with accommodation for the requested dates. For the airport transfers I recommend using Mountain drop offs. When in Chamonix you can walk or catch the local bus to all the mountains and local trails. Plenty of bars and evening hang outs to enjoy socializing and drinks with locals ;-) Hope this helps and you have a good trip, Chamonix is an amazing place!
