Not a horrible place, but not great. Uncomfortable beds, stuffy rooms, and a somewhat loud backyard area. The check-in procedure was weird as the front desk is only open for about 3-4 hours a day. You can easily see into the bathroom in the room as the glass isn't really frosted. Poor breakfast selection as corn flakes and a pre... More

Good, quiet location - 10-15 minutes out of town. Nice mountain views. We had some confusion about entry as the reception opens for only a few hours each day, 4-7. We arrived after 7. As we were travelers we did not have access to emails, which was how the reception communicated security/entry info. this also made it difficult knowing if... More

Me and my friend were here during a few days of off-season skiing. We loved our stay! The owners and co-guests were so nice and friendly. The sauna and hot tub were nice and clean, no complaints about the beds and room except maybe it was a little cold. Bring some warm pyjamas and you'll have a great stay here!

We stayed in a group of 6 people for 2 nights and after first great impression what happened it's unbelievable. Every night there was no electricity and what that means no heating. We send emails and texted the owner but it didn’t help. After first night we were assured that it will not happen again and we’ll get discount for... More

The Lodge is a hotel/hostel located about 1 km west of Sud Bus Station (main station). The good: there is a luggage and ski storage at the Lodge, there is code that is provided when you check in, so you don't need to interact with the reception when you leave or take your luggage once you checked out (no need... Clean rooms in a typical Alps chalet. Awesome that it has a hot tub on the terrace and a sauna -perfect after day in the mountains. 15-20 mins walk to cool bars in the center. 5 mins walk to ski bus, really nice chill atmosphere. Breakfasts are a nice touch, and a free wifi, which is not standard in France.

Very helpful staff and owner with lots of info and advice for new-comers, complimentary breakfast, close to town (15mins walking) and a choice of two hot-tubs. Great place to stay regardless of how long you are in Chamonix, the bunk rooms are not huge but they do the trick. The hostel is also close to major bus stops that take... More
