Family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Without a doubt, this is the most uncomfortable apartment we have ever stayed in. This was mainly caused by the fact that the bedrooms on the upper floor of the apartment were...More
The one bed appartment was spacious for its overall size with plenty of storage. Cooking tools and pillows basic but adequate. The biggest disappointment was the Wifi - only available in the foyer area, seldom worked and at an additional cost of 20Euro. It was...More

The train is easy peasy. I'm not a skier, but stayed in the valley three times now and used the train with my daughter in a buggy and that was absolutely fine. Sometimes there's a few steps up to the seating, but the train has ski racks at the ends of each carriage so there's plenty of space for skis (and buggies!)
The last train back from Cham is just before 8pm though, if you've been skiing all day, you may be pooped by then anyways! And the last bus back is a bit later. Timetables are available on the Chamonix tourism websites.
If you're staying in tourist accommodation, you should get a pass that gives you free travel on trains and buses between Vallorcine and Servoz (which will easily cover you for any skiing in the Cham valley)
Hope that helps!
