I’m a very frequent traveller and can’t even keep count of the number of hotels I use on a yearly basis. But I do know this; I have never had a better reception and service than I did at Hotel Mont Blanc. Everyone showed such genuine care and appeared to constantly do everything in their power to make our stay not just comfortable, but remarkable. We were always greeted with warm smiles and I’d like to specially thank Philippe for even offering to drive and pick us up at short notice. This hotel and its staff are a rare gem.

For starters I had a bad experience with this hotel and have been in communication with the General Manager. I would have given the hotel 3 stars but have knocked it down 1 star as I find his response defensive, generic, and surely lacking in what I would expect from any hotel nonetheless a "5 star" one. My original complaint had to do with the fact when I entered my room in the evening, the turn-down housekeeper was cleaning the room without wearing a mask and without gloves. This seemed incredibly odd considering we're in the midst of COVID and this should be basic hygiene standards. When I mentioned it to her, she seemed to suggest I could wear a mask if I want but continued to clean the room without a mask? I had another issue, but it is not as important as the lack of mask. For me the biggest problem is the GM's response. It feels very much like "So sorry, we take your feedback very seriously.......BUT I'm shocked at what you say and we're really a great hotel with really great service!". It almost feels like he cuts and pastes some lines for all complaints. However I must mention the restaurant and service in the restaurant are fantastic.

Dear Client. As you already told me by email, you said that the restaurant and quality of service was great. I'm glad to heard that. Regarding the issue you are talking about, let me put back the truth! I never told you "I'm shocked of what you say..." I told you that I personally apology for this mistake and that I will make sure that it won't happen again, as the quality of service and satisfaction of our guest are my priority. I tried to explained you that even if we had a misunderstanding regarding your lost item in the room, I was sorry about this mistake but that it was not reflecting the usual quality of service we provide to our guest, which use to be the best as we can. You had an issue but it doesn't mean that the whole housekeeping and service of the hotel is bad as you wrote me. It was what I tried to tell you! My team always try to do their best to go over clients expectations. A mistake may happen, and I'm really sorry for that, but it seems that you doesn't want to heard that and you prefer to criticize us on Tripadvisor, even if we already discussed by mail. This is your choice! I'm just sad of it, not for me, but for my team members, as I know they love their job, and love to satisfy our valuable customers. Kind regards. Hervé Hochet

Nice central location. Great spa although the water could be warmer. Friendly staff.. however that’s all. Beds are uncomfortable, rooms are not (at all!!) soundproof - we just couldn’t sleep. You can even hear people talking on the streets and we were on the 5th floor! Super expensive for what it is. Not recommended. There are very nice hotels in Chamonix.

Dear Client, Thank-you for your comment. Feedback from our guest are so much important for us in order to keep our quality standard the highest it could be. Regarding the pool, the water is heated at 29°c all year round. However, to be honnest, I'm quite surprised about your comment regarding our rooms not soundproof. It is the first time I get this feedback, unless maybe, your windows stayed open during the night? Otherwise, we do havet triple glazed windows meanning very soundproofed... And the area of the hotel is usually very quiet during the night as it's located veryclosed from the city center, but just far enough to not get the noise of the bars and restaurant around. We stayed at the Hotel Mont-Blanc for 7 nights over New Years 19’-20’ (Dec 28- Jan 4). What a perfect way to start the year!!! The hotel is beautiful, melding an old-school and modern feel seamlessly. The SPA facilities and outside pool are amazing. Incredible views from every corner of hotel. Location, Location, Location!!! The Hotel is right in the middle of the Main Square in Chamonix where all the restaurants and shopping are found. The staff is great!! Thank you again to head concierge Marieke and the rest of the front desk team for always assisting us with reservations and recommendations. They are incredibly friendly and willing to help in any way they can. Housekeeping was also amazing- the rooms are incredibly clean and are turned down twice a day . Extra perks: mini-bar that is replenished daily with included beverages ( water, peligrino, coke), Nespresso machine in room, ski lockers, and free shuttles to the lifts and surrounding areas if needed. Thank you again Hotel Mont-Blanc for a wonderful vacation!!!

Perfect location, service and quality of sleep in very nicely decorated rooms. One cannot ask for more at Chamonix. One should definitely visit the spa area. I cannot think of anything that I would change at the hotel. A perfect stay.
