Aix les Bains is famous for its thermal water properties for rhumatology so it was to be expected to see a number of elderly guests in the lobby and at breakfast. We were welcomed by courteous and friendly staff. The building has kept some of its past character as a home for nuns and the lovely gardens and proximity to...

Although the hotel was lovely and our room was more than spacious, we felt like we were staying in a retirement home. Now, we were there on a Sunday and (little did we realize) that the entire town shuts down on Sundays. The staff was very accommodating and our corner room (with fantastic views) was huge with tons of storage...

This was once a grand hotel with beautiful views over the Alps, which are now unfortunately partially obscured by a block of flats immediately opposite. The town is charming and great for walking around. Rooms are comfortable. There has been a certain amount of modernisation recently particularly in the dining room. There is no a la carte menu, just a...

This hotel was very convenient and an easy 5 minute walk to the town with off street parking. Our room and bathroom were recently furbished and spotless. We were made to feel very welcome and the owner was chatty and helpful. Nice little bar area too. The building is situated in lovely grounds with outside area for sitting and relaxing....

Hotel des Eaux was once a landmark hotel in town........a long time ago. Nowadays it is a clean, friendly, well located hotel. The staff went out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay...and we did. The service experience really does lift this place above the average.

It is true it could be a little bit renovated, but our stay there was quite nice. People are really gentle. Very children friendly. The rooms are quite big and above all they are clean and cosy. The bed was good. Near to centre.

We came late to the hotel. Hotel Des Eaux. The reception we got in the reception was exceptional. There was a young man that met us. He was just helpful from showing us the room to recommending an Italian restaurant in the town. In addition to giving us a map with restaurants, museums and other places of interest. I highly...

The hotel appears to be a legacy of a more affluent past, it is clean and with a lift. Bedroom corridors are a bit like a rabbit warren. It Is situated close to the thermal spring in the centre of town. The main occupants were very elderly people. The room was clean but no air conditioning or fan. On our...

Stayed over in Aix Les Bain before riding the Etape cycle sportive. Arrived very late and with one more guest than originally planned. The hotel couldn't have been more helpful. It is a grand old building, that is clean and well kept, I am sure it was the height of luxury in its day, though it is a very good...
