Stayed here for 3 nights, room quite basic and not comfy if you wanted to just chill for a bit, but the bar area is pretty cool and service good. Food a bit over priced. Breakfast a good spread. Area is not so nice tbh once you leave the hotel. There are better in Marseille I believe

Great quirky hotel , loved it staff great, service great and food excellent . Bus tour good cathedral and basilica are extraordinary so much to see and do .Marseille is easy to get to fly direct or into nice and the trains are excellent

After checking out on July 29th, I left my baggage with the hotel crew to explore Marseille, before leaving to another city. When I returned the hotel, my baggage and backpack had disappeared, and the hotel crew did’t know what happened. After the arrival of the security director (I had to insist about his presence) and seeing the security cameras, they find out that a guy entered the hotel, talked to a receptionist that conducted him to the room where all the luggages were stored, than he pointed to my baggage, and the receptionist simply gave him my luggage and my backpack, without any security check (the guy wasn’t even a guest - apparently he entered the hotel to steal baggage). He then walked out the hotel stealing all my belongings. I was then in the first day of my trip with nothing left than the clothes I was wearing. I went to the police station to report the steal, I tracked an iPad that was in my baggage (and saw that it was in the flea market of Marseille), but the only thing the hotel did was offer me a lousy t-shirt “mama loves you”. More than two months have passed and until now nothing has been done and I received no compensation from the hotel. I’m stunned with the lack of security and also with the lack of action from the hotel to at least compensate me somehow. I had to buy a lot of clothes, a new iPad, a valise, a backpack and many other items that were stolen to be able to at least continue with my trip, Besides that, I had to spend hours in shopping, a time that I had planned to use to relax and enjoy the vacations. I will start by saying that the hotel inside is very nice. The room was spacious and comfortable, but once you walk outside, it’s another story. Streets littered with garbage, rundown buildings, lots of shady characters. It does not feel safe after dark. Some of the hotel staff were incredibly rude, especially the kitchen staff. There is hardly any parking, so be prepared to find a place in the street to park your car. Hopefully your car will survive the night without any dings, scratches or broken windows.

Probably one of the best hotels when you look at price vs quality! Nice and refreshing interior of both common areas and rooms. Very friendly staff that make you smile regularly with their witty remarks. Very good breakfast! If you stay here, you will also enjoy the surprising evening events they organize. We stayed at the hotel for a teambuilding trip with 15 colleagues. Everyone really enjoyed the stay! I will defenitely come back!

Boheme and almost centrally located, the hotel has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Nice rooms with big windows (the big rooms not the smaller ones), Lobby bar serving buffet B fast and drinks at night. (some nights live music too). The hotel has a parking lot in the subsoil also. (free parking). Young croud everywhere and free porn films at you TV (wtf) .. Get into the groove .....

We loved the hotel room and the free movies we could stream. We found it a really long walk into the center of the city and it was up a pretty steep hill. It was also loud in the morning (it seemed like the housekeepers open and close lots of closets in the halls or something to get their items as there was constant opening and closing of doors from about 9 am onwards.) We liked the bar at night but we paid for the breakfast (which is not cheap) and half of the breakfast room is the ‘smoking room’ but it’s not even separated from the rest of the room. I hate cigarette smoke so it totally ruined breakfast for me so I wouldn’t recommend breakfast if you are also not a fan of cigarette smoke.

Very modern, cozy, welcoming hotel. The hotel had a really cool and funky bar downstairs where our kids could hang out. The hotel breakfast was excellent and we highly recommend it. The room was clean and we appreciated that the windows opened for airiness. The only factor preventing me from giving it 5 stars was that our room was cramped, a surprise considering the hotel was newly built. The hotel is off the beaten path, and not near the central port, so expect to walk a lot (which suited us fine).

We stayed for one night in Marseille and had a really great time at Mama shelter. Hotel was very fun and quirky! Room was a good size and fit for purpose and very clean. We left the hotel for dinner but on return went to the bar where we had a great time. There was a DJ and good drinks selection and ended up dancing! We are now keen to stay at other mama shelter hotels in other cities
