I liked: The hotel is located close to the main train station. The check-in process was fast, and everything was according to my reservation, payment had been done in advanced. I got room No 326, and it was fine, a narrow space though. The bed was comfortable enough for a good sleep. No annoying noise from the street at night helped to relax. Wide flat screen TV set with several channels (all in French language), good signal, and it was possible to connect my USB memory to play movies. Safe box very useful. Air conditioned available. Three electrical sockets in the room. Wi-fi signal was not supposed to function in the room, but the signal got there sometimes. Bathroom was ok, in order and clean, perhaps the towels looked already old. Hair dryer available. Soap provided, though no shampoo. Tiny shower space. Elevator available in site. I did not have breakfast in the hotel, but I got food from the markets nearby for this purpose. Service in general was good. Staff spoke english, and Thomas particularly spoke Spanish. There are markets and restaurants in the neighborhood. Tram and bus stations are close, too. But walking downtown was not the big deal. Being so close to the train station allowed me to move easy with my luggage to the bus stop located right in front of the station, and get the bus line No 99 to the Nice airport, very helpful thing. I did not like: No fridge or minibar in the room.

We had a fantastic stay here in November 2019. After some of the reviews we read, we were a bit worried, but we did not see these bad reviews as a true reflection based on our visit. We were in room 107. Clean and comfortable, best nights sleep we have had in a long while. We stayed for 4 nights, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is very close to everything you could want. The breakfast was included in our price And we could not complain. It was typically French, the coffee was okay, and plenty of pastries, toast and cereal. I can understand people saying the area feels a bit rough of am evening, but we never had any bother, it's just the same as walking through a city at night. We loved our time in Nice and when we return we will be booking this hotel again.

Booked a few days here thru a local travel agent. The hotel is situated near the main Nice-Ville rail station, but a good 10-15 minute walk to old town/sea front. From the outside the hotel looked OK but greeted by worn leather chairs in the foyer. A bit of a theme for parts of hotel (mainly carpets). Our bedroom was small. About 12' x 12', and that included a shower room. Shower/toilet all tiled and very clean, but no toiletries, just small bars of soap. Also, no toilet roll holder. Toilet roll stood on top of cistern. One roll - no spares. Towels fresh and replaced daily. Bed linen clean, as was room in general. Safe in integrated wardrobe. Unfortunately, our room had a single window looking onto a partly derelict hotel next door, with pealing paint and cement. Didn't have any food in hotel (self catering), but visited many places on main street that do breakfast (petit dejeuner) and meals (the street is about 100 metres to right as you leave hotel). Best place for food is the square in Old Town, or in area opposite to the parks just a few streets behind the prom. Two or 3 Macdonalds, and a KFC, nearby. If on the Prom worth visiting the Castle. Ruins, walls, water cascade and great views. Nice land train good value at €10. You can easily get to Cannes to the west, by train. If so worth spending a bit of time at Antibes (on same line). Ticket cost nearly €15. You can visit Eze and Monaco to the east, also by train. Staff very friendly and helpful at hotel. You can store cases if you have late departure, but they are left in unsecured area of the foyer. Hotel was full on two of the three days so obviously popular. A few groups of young men frequent the streets nearby. Whilst I can see how some people may be intimidated by this we often walked past them without the slightest problem. If travelling to Nice from Nice airport you now need to get the Tram from outside the terminal. There are two types of tickets. A single journey for about €1.50. Multi use ticket for €5. However you need coins, or a card. There are NO places to change notes. The Tram takes you to central Nice. About 10-12 stops to Jean Medecin Station (it is underground). The station is fairly central, but closet to sea front. Hotel Trocadero a good 10 minutes in land (to left when you reach main road). The reference point for the station is a branch of the shop C&A on the main street. When using Tram or Train you must 'validate' your ticket (on the Tram, or in railway stations). Failure to do so may result in a fine!

The hotel was located close to the train station and also nearby the trams. The staff was friendly and easy spoken. The stay at Trocadero was well worth the money, the breakfast however was not something to write home about. 8 euro for a "french buffet" was overpriced, but over all we were pleased with the stay. A minibar or refrigerator would have been nice if we would wish for something else.

Good location, in the centre and close to everything you need, but the price of the rooms are not worth the money, very old rooms, old style reception, dirty room, no cleaned towels before 2pm, old and smelly carpet on the floor, very small room and no space for a baby bed in case you need it, small bathroom and now shower gel, only hand soap. Low quality service and not suggested for more then 2/3 days.
