Having been advised that “all the rooms have sea view”, Room 103 down by the pool just has a tiny glimpse of the sea through the trees, see photo below. I have stayed here many times before, and that’s why I chose it for my partner‘s special birthday. They refused to change the room, which was dark and out-dated, although I believe the property is being upgraded this coming winter. I was told I hadn’t requested a sea view, but then I remembered that “all the rooms have sea view”! For such a good hotel in the past, I found it difficult to believe that the bath, although having a shower within it, still has a shower curtain. How very old-fashioned! Toiletries are fixed to the wall, so nobody can steal them if they ever wanted to. The bed was comfortable, the room was small, and the staff were less than helpful. They kindly gave us a glass of champagne each for his 80th birthday, but the room was awful. Eventually we were given a tray with a kettle, cups, etc., but no milk. This is because the hotel was rented out for a wedding. We therefore had to walk through the wedding guests and their lovely reception to get in and out of the hotel. What a shambles, I can’t possibly recommend this to anyone ever again.…
Dined in restaurant last night, food was wonderful, drinks fabulous, surroundings gorgeous, a truly wonderful inside outside restaurant, staff Phillipe, Martin and robin looked after us very well thank you so much we will definitely return.
Lovely hotel in a great position. The staff were all very friendly and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Didn't use the bar or restaurant but it looked very nice. We stayed next door (also 4*) a little while ago, there is no comparison. We will stay here everytime we are in Nice.
Nestled by the cliffs in old Nice and near the port you will find the most wonderful hotel. We have been going to La Perouse for Many years and it never fails to astound me how the team there never disappoint. Despite a ‘covid’ gap of a couple of years the same team greeted us with great warmth and Professionalism. The rooms are a delight and if you take my advice do try and book one with a sea view and terrace. The view is phenomenal and do have at least one day when you have breakfast on your terrace, it is quite the loveliest thing to do. There is a great courtyard area with restaurant and bar, where the service is brilliant , the food excellent and the atmosphere relaxing and peaceful. I could go on about it’s attributes for a Long time, I would encourage you to go visit, the staff team will make your visit memorable, the rooms are spotless, the beds comfortable…..need I say more. Well done to Laurie and her amazing staff.…
Hotel la Perouse is situated above the beach in Nice but at the more quiet end. It is also adjacent to the Old Town which is a fascinating place to visit. The hotel staff was charming and helpful, the restaurant excellent, and the room lovely, with a stunning view. It has that impossible to describe in words the special quality that makes a hotel very special. I wish I could go back right now.
Excellent location close to the sea, the Promenade des Anglais and the old town. Nice room. If you have a car (like we did), the valet service for the car works perfectly, i.e. no parkin gat the hotel but they take and bring your car in an efficient way. The terrace at the 6th floor is a highlight, with splendid views over Nice and the whole bay.
A beautiful hotel set close to the Old Town and flower market but set back from the main road, so it was peaceful and calm. We were so lucky to have a fifth floor room with a wonderful terrace and fantastic view of the bay - so romantic!. The room was well appointed and the bed extremely comfortable. My birthday breakfast was served in the room and made it feel really special. All the staff were warm and friendly, helpful and polite - we imagine it's not easy in these difficult times, so we were very impressed by their professional manner. We had a brilliant week in Nice and we can't wait to return! Thank you La Perouse!
Very nice hotel . The decoration is old fashion . Confortable room . Food is ok . View is so beautifull. Beds are big and confortable. Concierge is helpfull. But this hotel should be more charming with a new decaration.
Reception is at street level, but the rest of the hotel is built upwards into the steep cliff at the Old Town end of the Promenade des Anglais. We took two lifts and some stairs to climb to the very top, and found our rooms with terrace and the most stupendous stunning view out over the Med. You absolutely must book a sea view room and order room service for breakfast, and, frankly, every meal. The restaurant is excellent even at breakfast (which can so often be the poor relation). It’s in a quiet part of Nice, and only a short distance from the Old Town. Plenty nearby to explore if you can tear yourself away from your balcony view. Nice is a seriously classy place, but can be ostentatious. Hotel La Perouse is stylish and luxurious without an ounce of bling, and we absolutely loved it. Much thanks to every single member of staff for their courtesy, helpfulness and smiles. We’ll be back soon!…
A wonderful hotel in Nice. My best recommendation. Beautiful view. Best location both close to everything but still “isolated” when you are at the hotel. The pictures on the website shows the reality.
