Stunning kerb appeal and entrance to this perfectly positioned privately owned and run Hotel, on Rue de Rivoli. The location is perfect for making use of the newly opened addition to the tram service, The Promenade des Anglais and the Mediterranean etc. You can expect a warm welcome from the friendly staff, the hotel provides pleasant accommodation with attentive service followed in the morning with a good continental breakfast. A wonderful stay in this wonderful City.

Dear Mr. Gordon, Thank you for such a positive review. We are glad that you had" a wonderful stay at the Hotel Villa Rivoli in this wonderful city Nice". Your message of satisfaction is a reward and incentive for our team members to continue with their efforts to uphold our high standards. Thank you again for giving us a very good rating and for recommending our hotel to other travellers. Indeed the new opened tram is a real added value for the visitors of Nice. For our futur guests: the nearest tram station from the Villa Rivoli (only 3 min walk) is Alsace Lorraine and the ticket from the airport costs 1.50 €. We look very much forward to welcoming you back on a future occasion. Best wishes, Barbara Kimmig & The Villa Rivoli Family

Without the issue of the wifi which was not working, I would have given the maximum score as the team is very pleasant and welcoming, the room is nicely decorated and quiet and the bedding is comfortable. The bathroom is missing a little space. You can still have the breakfast served in the breakfast room. The room has a tea and coffee facility, a mini fridge would bring an extra added value. I will definitely return.

Dear Guest, Many thanks for your very positive comment. Of course the wifi issue was resolved in meantime. This was really unusual, I have to point out that normally our wifisystem has an excellent connection due to the high speed. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay in our Villa Rivoli, indeed we take very much care of details and the decoration itself. We want that our guests really feel in France . The building itself is beautiful and was built in 1890, so we try to respect " the old lady", during the renovation. Every room is decorated differently and we do have different sizes of bathrooms. Please, don't hesitate to contact us directely, in order to attribute the " right room with the perfect bathroom". Due to the actuel situation, we propose our guests to use a fridge as well as a microwave. We think the terrasses of the restaurants will open again in around mid mai 2021, and the restaurants around mid of juin 2021. Looking very much forward welcoming you soon again, yours, Barbara Kimig & The Villa Rivoli Family

This beautiful townhouse with its elegant rooms and atmosphere feels like your own special place in Nice. The staff are hugely welcoming and helpful, overseen by the chic and charming Barbara Kimmig, who is on hand to greet guests in the light and airy breakfast room and breakfast garden. They know Nice extensively and have always given me some great insider tips for eating places and things to do. My favourite is Room 9, with its chandelier, shutters, toile de jouy covered walls and small balcony overlooking the garden.Minutes from the beach and from the tram stop that whizzes you to and from the airport, and just one stop from Place Massena, the Villa Rivoli is a hidden gem that makes your visit to Nice even more special.

This is a gem of a small 'boutique' hotel and if you want a place with a personal touch and old-fashioned charm then this will suit you completely. True, the shower was a bit of a squeeze (this is France) but it didn't matter as the room's bright floral decor was fresh and clean. Breakfast was to be looked forward to - a buffet set out in the lounge, where the decor does a modern twist on the 18th century grand style. I could have spent the whole morning here. Service is efficient but friendly, not stiff or officious. The hotel's location is also very handy, being a minutes walk from the Promenade des Anglais and with many shops and cafes close by. Lots of Art Deco apartment blocks too. In all, I was sorry to leave the Villa Rivoli but I know it'll be the first place I try to book next time I'm in Nice.

This boutique hotel (fewer than 30 rooms) is located on a quiet street of Nice, 100 meters away from the Baie des anges and the Promenade des Anglais (the beach!) and a short walk from the city center and the old Nice. It is a nice, comfortable, and quiet "vintage" hotel... but what makes the difference is the hospitality! we really felt welcome there... and all the credit is due to owner/GM Mrs Kimmig, who is even more charming than her hotel!

Just arrived home from Nice and Villa Rivoli. Hotel was very easy to find from the airport, take tram 2 to Grand Arenas and change to tram 3 heading to Port Olympia. Station closest to the hotel is Alsace-Lorraine.
Our room was a nice superior room on the 2nd floor, spacious enough with a firm bed and enough place to store clothes and luggage. Separate WC and shower, it is a very old building with old plumbing so the pressure of the shower might not be as strong as it is home. Good airconditiong was needed and provided, as it was very hot in Nice those days.
We had breakfast there too, for 12€ we got eggs, bread ,croissants, juice, coffee, fruit salad, muesli, yoghurt, cheese etc. There are also many nice places serving breakfast close to the hotel if you need more variety.
Staff was amazingly friendly, spoke very good English and were most helpful with everything. If ever in Nice again, I'd stay in Villa Rivoli for sure. Our favorite bars and restaurants were found on Rue France not far away from the hotel. The only thing that was not bad for us but it is worth mentioning that there is no elevator in the hotel, so people with bad feet and heavy luggage should consider.

Helpful staff. Very accommodating, despite the limitations imposed by COVID restrictions. Pleasant rooms and great location. In the heart of the beautiful area in Nice with the gorgeous riviera architecture and just a couple of minutes away from the promenade des Anglais. You can do lots of stuff by foot. And there is a bike rental place just across the street. We recomment renting an electric bike and riding along the coast. We went all the way to Monaco. And the hotel agreed to keep our bikes. There is also a parking at a reasonable daily rate if you wish to leave the car and walk around the city... the best way to see it.

This is a lovely clean hotel with welcoming management and staff.

On arrival at the hotel in early March I was greeted by Emilio at reception. Emilio was extremely helpful and made me feel very welcome throughout my stay.

I stayed for one week in one of the semi-basement budget rooms. The room was a reasonable size and the bed was very comfortable. I had a lovely and relaxed continental breakfast each morning in a belle epoque styled dining room that will dreamily take you back to another time. Regina and the other catering staff ensure that the breakfast is well presented and to your liking.

Speaking with several other guests, it didn't surprise me to hear that they were returnees who had previously stayed in the hotel on their trips to Nice and the south of France - a great compliment to Barbara, the owner/manager and her staff.

Set in a very pretty historic building this hotel is two minutes walk from the seafront and close to many cafes and restaurants. The bed was super comfy, the decor very thoughtful and the owner lovely which gave our stay a real personable touch. The hotel also has a lovely garden where you can enjoy your morning coffee and fresh croissants. Recommend. Many thanks!

Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for your lovely comments and message. We enjoy what we do, and receiving and welcoming clients is a pleasure for us. We are very lucky to be situated where we are, in the quiet part of the center of Nice with everything on our doorstep. Our rooms are decorated with care, to keep the style of the belle epoque with a slight modernity. We aim to keep our guests as comfortable as possible so they can enjoy their time in Nice. We are very pleased that you took time to appreciate the decoration. Our garden is something we are proud of, as it is very calm, so our guests can relax and enjoy the sunshine without leaving the hotel! We are very pleased that you would recommend our hotel and it will be a privilege to welcome you again. If you come back to Nice, perhaps you would prefer to book directly with us, so you can benefit from our special offers. During the second confinement, our hotel remains open, despite the bars and restaurants being closed, until further notice. We propose to our guests to order their meals and have it delivered to the hotel, where they can eat in our lovely dining room or in their rooms. We can provide plates and cutlery so our guests can dine in comfort. We wish you a pleasant afternoon and hope to see you soon! Stay safe and wishing you and yours the best. Kind regards. Barbara Kimmig and the Villa Rivoli Team

This hotel is close to the beaches, bars and restaurants, and has a charming decoration, "made by Barbara", the owner. She welcomes you personally, and you feel like home right away. The breakfast is highly recommended.... the hotel rents out apartments for your stay, just opposite the street! My customers are always very satisfied, without any negative remarks! Bravo!

Please take Bus No 98 at the airport exit to the Bus-stations. Terminal 1 = Platform 1, Terminal 2 = Platform 5. Buy the Tickets at the office near the Platforms (Lignes d'azur). Stop is GAMBETTA, there cross the promenade to the Hotel Negresco, Rue de Rivoli. Walk up the street on the left (!) side until Rue de la Buffa, there you will see the sign of the Villa Rivoli on the right side. Walking time: approx. 10 Min. maximum. Its a nice area. The bus departs every 15/20 minutes, the fare for a single journey is € 6. Please note: journey time to Gambetta might be 20 Min., it depends on the traffic. Strikes (= greve) might occur, please check the lignes d'azur website bevore travelling (english version available). In general the Bus 98 is a good option, I recommend it for the experienced traveller.
