What a gem of a hotel! I cannot say enough good things about my stay at Hotel Villa Rivoli - a prolonged sojourn spanning both Winter and Spring months given the pandemic and necessary personal business in Nice. The charming owner and very pleasant and competent staff made me feel right at home with no request too big nor too small. And always with a smile and a helpful attitude - and available in multiple languages too! A true gem of a boutique hotel ideally placed relative to the sea and to the Promenade des Anglais but also minutes from Rue de France in the chic Carre d'Or quartier featuring numerous top clothing shops, specialty food / wine stores, art/antique shops, a wide array of good restaurants, etc. In the heart of the action! An added bonus is a lovely garden with exclusive parking behind gates all adjoining the hotel. I found the bedrooms (I was in 3 before I left!) truly comfortable, quiet with thick walls, good art and furniture, big beds, dreamy mattresses and pillows, all with stylish decor. French doors with exterior wrought iron railings enabling fresh air and pleasant views for each room. Elegant interiors and belle epoque motifs maintained in all the common areas - try the excellent breakfast in la salle à manger every morning. Last but not least - amazing value for money - one cannot go wrong staying at Hotel Villa Rivoli - it will frame a very satisfying visit to Nice - I will always be a return patron of this special place! Thank you Barbara, Katja and all your wonderful team!…
Helpful staff. Very accommodating, despite the limitations imposed by COVID restrictions. Pleasant rooms and great location. In the heart of the beautiful area in Nice with the gorgeous riviera architecture and just a couple of minutes away from the promenade des Anglais. You can do lots of stuff by foot. And there is a bike rental place just across the street. We recomment renting an electric bike and riding along the coast. We went all the way to Monaco. And the hotel agreed to keep our bikes. There is also a parking at a reasonable daily rate if you wish to leave the car and walk around the city... the best way to see it.
Without the issue of the wifi which was not working, I would have given the maximum score as the team is very pleasant and welcoming, the room is nicely decorated and quiet and the bedding is comfortable. The bathroom is missing a little space. You can still have the breakfast served in the breakfast room. The room has a tea and coffee facility, a mini fridge would bring an extra added value. I will definitely return.
The hotel is very well situated. Just 5 minutes’ walk from Promenades des Anglais, the beach and Negressco hotel. Villa Massena and the Museum of Fine arts are also very close. The railway station is 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel. The hotel is very beautiful. Rooms are very well decorated. You can take the breakfast in the nice salon (style Belle Epoque) or in the garden if the weather allows. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back again.
This was my third year in a row at the wonderful Hotel Villa Rivoli. I felt very confident going there during this 'Covid era' of travel. I was assured beforehand that all precautions were being taken to ensure the safety of guests. And this didn't detract from the wonderful experience of staying from the hotel at all. The staff and management are formidable. Friendly and welcoming and discreet. The hotel has history - stunning belle époque decor - and modern facilities - a great combination. I love the breakfast room too - you can sit indoors or in the garden. Perfect for solo travellers.
