If you're looking for an ultra modern hotel, then this hotel probably isn't for you, but if you're looking for a charming, fragrant, classic French hotel with the best view in Nice plus very friendly, helpful, professional staff, you'd be hard pressed to do better than Hotel Suisse! My husband and I have visited this hotel twice before and can't imagine why we'd book anywhere else. This time we brought our children and 3 grandchildren - as a group of 8, we couldn't have been the easiest customers, especially with the children being very young. Yet the staff were absolutely lovely and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, including help with the luggage, rearranging tables in the restaurant to accommodate our group, recommending local restaurants booking taxis and looking after our luggage after we checked out, our flight being a late evening one. And as mentioned before, the view is simply stunning, by day and by night! I can honestly say that when we visit Nice again, we won't be looking at any other hotels!…
If you want an amazing view of the beautiful sea and promenade in Nice, stay at Hotel Suisse! We loved our two nights at this perfectly situated hotel in the curve of the promenade that faces the sea and Nice. Steps away, behind and above the hotel is a wonderful park, where we strolled and took in the views on both sides of the city. We were also a block from the old center of Nice with its' daily market. The breakfast was delicious which we took in our room so we wouldn't miss a moment of our beautiful view. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We will be back soon!
This hotel is situated ideally in Nice close to the old town and the beach. The view from the rooms is just great and you feel like you are in a painting of Matisse. The staff is friendly and very helpful to find restaurants and what ever you need. The rooms are clean but small and you sense that the old needs constant care to maintain a good standard - it is has. I would stay there again. A cousin of improvements that I could suggest is to 1) make the breakfast more interesting e.g. cut fruit in a nice way, add more pastries, and choice of eggs. Further I do find that the salon for the breakfast is in very bold colours for the chairs which don’t match the hotel. Also perhaps the reception area could do with some remodelling.
The hotel’s stunning views cannot overcome the hotel’s lack of Wi-Fi, the apathy and hostility of the hotel staff, and a raft of other challenges, including advertising an elevator/lift when you need to climb stairs to even get to the lift! If you value a stress-free holiday with the barest minimum from a hotel staff, there are countless other hotels in Nice, so you can avoid this one. NO internet for four days.
Location of the hotel and the views of Promenade des Anglais it offers are good enough reasons for staying at this hotel. Proximity to numerous restaurants and bars around old Nice is another big plus. Our 3rd floor room was small but good enough for 2 people. Same was true for the balcony which provided gorgeous view of Nice. Surprisingly the bathroom was decent in size. Both room and bathroom were spotlessly clean like the rest of the hotel. Room amenities included electronic safe, bedroom slippers, TV, mini bar and tea/coffee facility which included a Nespresso coffee machine. Bathroom was stocked with basic amenities which were enough for our needs. All the staff we came across were polite and helpful. They helped us to make restaurant booking for us in advance. Both check in and out was smooth and hassle free. The hotel serves a really good breakfast with nice choices which includes both cold and hot options. The fresh orange juice they served was simply great. The breakfast room also has a nice and airy ambiance. The only issue we had to handle during our stay was parking our hired car since the hotel does not provide any parking. We found parking Sulzer to be the most convenient one but this involves a five minute walk. There is a small lay-by in front of the hotel where we could park our car for short periods while checking in and leaving. Overall we think this hotel is a great option if someone is looking for a stay near to Nice old town and is looking for a great view of Nice. Pricewise it is not cheap but considering the location and service we believe this hotel provides value for money.…
Best hotel - value for money - in Nice. Extremely professional and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Third visit at this hotel having tried several other hotels in Nice. Will surely come back. Visited also during last Winter - still perfect for an out of season visit to Nice.
Perfectly located to enjoy the Old City, the beach, and the port for boat trips to Monaco. Parking is not on site, but a relatively short distance away in a public parking lot. The breakfast is perfect, with fresh pastries and bread, eggs, various meats, freshly squeezed OJ and fresh fruits.
The location is great and the views from the sea-facing rooms are fantastic. The rooms are also nice and clean. Don’t expect much else. The service is diffident, there’s no restaurant, and the bar & breakfast room are unattractive. But given everything you need - the beach, restaurants, cafes, shopping, nightlife - is on your doorstep, it’s a good value option for your stay in beautiful Nice.
Hotel Suisse is in a wonderfully scenic location in Nice and a great base for daytrips to Villefranche, Cannes, Antibes etc. We walked 25 mins via the Port to the train station for day trips – great for getting some steps in! We normally rambled back via the old town stopping for a cold drink on the way back to the hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and friendly. Breakfast is served in a delightful bright airy room, with cheerful staff and includes super fresh pastries along with a good selection in the hot and cold buffet. The lift is tiny but not unusual for hotels in Europe that are built into ancient walls or cliffs. The bedroom was well equipped and toiletries replaced daily as needed. I would highly recommend paying for a sea view room and ask for one on the second floor as they seem to have higher ceilings and larger balconies. The view of the bay was amazing day and night. If we go back to Nice, this is where will we stay.…
This was our fourth stay at this hotel. I can say that I find no faults with this hotel. The staff are helpful and extremely professional. The rooms are very comfortable and provide all amenities - tea, coffee, hairdryer, mini bar. The breakfast which is included is excellent with a large selection and the freshest pastries. The view of the Baie des Anges is gorgeous and you can hear the waves with the windows open. The rates are very reasonable. I have stayed in more expensive hotels which don’t come near the Hotel Suisse in all round excellence.
