we booked this hotel to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Were dissapointed from the start. Room was not available even though we arrived after 4 pm, Room itself was a disaster. Decoration as if done by a 3 years old, with cheap plastic IKEA chairs. Supposdely "artist" designed. No bath, and shower you could not stand under. Bathroom sink is the smallest I have ever encountered, about size of dinner plate. Not enough staff. Brekfast was good, and staff were friendly. Only compliment is the friendly staff. Very dissapointed and we left after 1 night and booked a different venue. We were told on checking out that we could have changed rooms, yet this was not offered to us when we informed the reception we would check out the night before 7day of arrival.
This was our third visit to Hotel Windsor. This time we had a lovely room overlooking the garden, and the roofs of Nice. Opening the window to birdsong in the mornings. As always the staff were attentive, courteous, and a pleasure to deal with. The level of service, and the general ambience of the Hotel, is equal or above that of what many more upmarket Hotels aspire to. It's a special place, in the heart of Nice. We will be back again!
Very nice hotel in Nice, 10 min walk from promenade des Anglais. Very friendly service and fairly priced. Hotel has its own restaurant which was very nice, serving local cuisine with fresh products from the market daily. A small oasis of calm in a great part of the city. Everything within walking distance. Highly recommended. A small swimming pool is also nice, but the used the ocean most of the time :)
I wanted to like the Hotel Windsor more than I did. I enjoyed the artist’s mural in my room and I think the garden would have been lovely in better weather, but I basically found the room to be fairly spartan and not very comfortable. Hard mattress, meager pillows, insufficient plugs, tight bath and a generally worn air all around. Everything was clean, service was fine, but i just didn’t find the experience very compelling. Perhaps I was put off by the upcharge upon check in when I asked to change from my originally assigned room as it was impossibly small (I am not unfamiliar with European boutique hotel room size), perhaps it has been too long since I stayed in a hotel of this type and I had unreasonable expectations, but all in all, though it was serviceable, I did not leave with any desire to return. Obviously other reviewers have loved it so I am willing to accept that I am either too critical or missed something - maybe both, but if you are a higher end traveler, just know what you are getting.…
Stayed for 3 nights in October our 1st visit to NIce We loved this hotel. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Spotlessly clean. Friendly helpful staff. Our room was on the road side on the 4th floor at no time was traffic noise a problem.Restaurant was closed outside breakfast during our stay so cannot comment on it. This was not a problem as found alternative within walking distance. Refreshing to see a hotel with a personality. Would definitely stay again
