This restaurant was not our first choice, but as many restaurants were closed (holiday season) we ended up here. We did not have a reservation, yet we got seating on the terrace. First and main courses were simply delicious. In our opinion the desert menu was rather basic and we ended up sharing the waffle desert due recommendation, which fell short after first and main. The staff was simply superb. They were very welcoming, helpful and attentive. Great service!

It was not easy finding accommodations to fit our schedule in Nice, since we were unknowingly sandwiched between the Cannes Film Awards and the Monaco Grand Prix. Our host, Peter, welcomed us to La MOma—his home and artist studio. Location, location, location! We easily walked the safe neighborhood for restaurants and other points of interest. At the end of the private pedestrian street, avenue des Mousquetaires, one can catch a tram that goes right to the center of town. But my wife and I enjoy walking, and found it to be an easy walk to Place Masséna, the historic quarter and the Promenade des Anglais along the Mediterranean Sea and the Riviera. In the afternoon we even walked to Cathédral Russe and back home. As for La MOma: our room was a bit small with no place to really sit except the bed. Our bathroom, which was clean and private to us, was downstairs. There are common areas which we were invited to use. Peter and Valérie are both artists and this is their home, with people coming and going at various times. Peter was very welcoming and generous with his time, but we felt a bit like intruders on their privacy—our feeling, not his. The great highlight for us was enjoying breakfast in the private garden, surrounded by trees, flowers and quaint little decorations. I also enjoyed our conversations about his art, and passion for life, etc. We were so grateful for Peter’s hospitality.

We stayed at La Moma for 4 nights in May 2013. We had initially planned to stay for three but were having such a good time we stayed another night. Peter and Valerie were incredibly accommodating. I arrived late the first night around 9pm and had to drive to pick up a friend from the airport. Peter didn't bat an eyelid when I said I expected to be back around 2am, he just showed me around the place and let me know how to get my car past the controlled barrier at the end of the street. Breakfast was served in the idyllic garden and consisted of yoghurt, fresh fruits, croissant, fresh bread, butter and jams, orange juice and coffee. It wasn't a problem if you got up late or needed to leave early. La Moma felt like home. We even started saying 'shall we go home' when we were talking about going back to La Moma. Peter and Valerie were kind and welcoming and as their were only two guest rooms on the 1st floor and Peter and Valerie lived above you felt like you were welcomed into someone's home. We were given free reign to make ourselves hot chocolate in the kitchen in the evening and were invited to dinner one night to have some of Valerie's amazing Pistou soup and a glass of Rose. There was fast free WiFi and comfortable sofas in the lounge. Great when you wanted to do a spot of holiday planning. La Moma was uniquely decorated with many of Peter and Valerie's works of art as well as interesting items Valerie kept from when she was working in the antique trade, and made this B&B into its own unique wonderful world. The location was very convenient, It was just 50m from the Valrose University stop on the Ligne 1 tram. 3 stops from the SNCF Gare. Which meant travelling from La Moma was quick and easy for trips in Nice on the Tram or further afield using the trains. We were very happy here and would recommend it unreservedly for people wanting a base in Nice or just for passing through.

My daughter and I stayed at Moma this summer and could not have asked for a better situation. It was easy to get downtown and Peter and Valerie gave us excellent advice as to how to spend our time in Nice. We enjoyed breakfast in the garden, valued our discussions about art and politics and felt completely welcomed into Peter and Valerie's home. The experience was unique and we will remember it as a highlight of our trip.

A friend and I stayed at La MoMA for a few nights during the easter break and had to POP room. It was definitely a home away from home - Peter and Valerie made us feel very welcome during our stay and it was a rare occasion to be able to stay in an artists' home. We were able to witness Peter during his work process and also viewed Valerie's amazing products. The place was very close to a tram stop which was just a few stops away from the train station. On the last day, we had to leave very early so Peter and Valerie kindly prepared some breakfast for us to take on our ways. We were also worried about not having any means of transport to catch our early flight - Peter especially went on the internet (without us requesting to do so!) to find a suitable route and schedule for us, made a print out of it and left it by our door! I have to say it was very enjoyable and fun to stay at La Moma - I will definitely stay there again in the future!
