The hotel was a small hotel in the east of Menton, just 5 to 10 minutes walk from the historic centre. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful (arranging a taxi) and the breakfast was nice as well. The rooms on the seaside have nice view on the old city centre of Menton.

I’ve just returned from a 6 night stay in Menton at Hôtel Napoléon. I could not wait to get home and write this review. My son and I had a lovely stay! Hôtel Napoléon is everything they describe- elegant, yet non pretentious. All of he staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We arrived early and they happily stored our bags until we were able to check in. In the meantime Jean Baptiste who was on duty at the front desk offered us fresh lemonade a tribute to the region, and gave us a map so that we could explore the area during our wait. We were able to discover that the hotel is in the perfect location ; close to the beach, restaurants, and many other attractions. The location allows you the opportunity to walk or run, or cycle for long distances along the seaside, and that was perfect for my son and I. We enjoyed our room very much. The balcony was perfect . We had a sea view. The room was nicely decorated, with special artful touches that were subtle, yet made a nicely coordinated statement. It provide a relaxing and pleasant environment and contributed to a very mindful stay! My son will attend Sciences Po, which happened to be only steps away, so the hotel was also a very perfect location for those visiting the university. The hotel buffet was adequate, and the fresh juice delicious. The WiFi was okay (but who comes for the WiFi?!) The hotel has also made taken Covid19 precautions. Their is clear signage about obligatory masks, and hand sanitizing gel is placed at the hôtel entrance, and at the elevator. Our room was very clean and we had the option to have our room made up daily. The free mini bar contains water, juice and soft drinks that were replenished daily; that was much appreciated. All in all, great value for our lovely stay! No need to look further, if you want a guaranteed stay in Menton. I will surely visit again!

Hotel Napoleon is a very pleasant hotel on the seafront, close to the old town of Menton. Our room, a seafront twin, was well decorated with a Cocteau theme and had firm, very comfortable beds. There is a minibar with soft drinks included in the room price. The staff were very accommodating and appeared to be able to switch between French, Italian and English with ease. However - we left after one night of a planned three-night stay because the noise from the road made sleep impossible. There is a four lane boulevard to the front of the hotel which we assumed would quieten down in the evening. It didn’t. Moreover, there is a set of traffic lights just outside the hotel giving the motorbikers (of whom there appear to be a large number in Menton) the opportunity to show off their GP style getaways at 4am. Add to this mosquitoes in the room (in March??) and we decided the Napoleon was not for us. Shame. The Napoleon would be a good hotel if we were used to sleeping at a racetrack.

We booked this hotel online in advance of our visit as it had been recommended by Delicious Magazine. It did not disappoint. The staff were welcoming, charming and gracious. The room was on a corner at the back of the hotel and had a nice balcony. The other rear facing rooms don't have balconies; sea view ones all do. The room was well appointed if a little tight around the bed. The bed was very comfortable with sufficient pillows. Breakfast is generous and self service. As the hotel is a little out of the town it is very quiet and a nice stroll along the promenade should you want a restaurant or to visit the town. We got to the hotel on the train from Nice Airport. The Menton Garavan station is a three or four minute walk from the hotel and is a nice way to get there for the views from the train. Highly recommended and I look forward to a return visit. 5*

This is not the least expensive option in this very noisy and bustling town, but it is a great option. Staff makes a hotel, and Hotel Napoleon has wonderful staff. The rooms are clean and very well thought out, the beds and pillows must be Tempur-Pedic as I've never had such great sleep. The only downside is that all hotels in Europe seem to turn off the AC in October, and it can still be warm. Leaving the windows open is an option, but bring ear plugs. The breakfast is an extra cost, but is a very good one. You are right across from the sea, and the Junior Suite may be the best choice for the terrace. This is a great, clean and stylish, comfortable hotel.
