Le Grimaldi is a charming hotel and restaurant located in the medieval village of Le Haut de Cagnes, a short distance from the sea between Monaco and Cannes. Situated in an idyllic setting in the heart of the village square at the foot of the historic Chateau Grimaldi, it is the perfect place to experience the charm of Provencal village life whilst exploring the Cote d’Azur.

Excellent small hotel, very cozy. Great location, right in front of the local square in the old village. The personnel were extremely knowledgeable, caring and helpful. Can only recommend to stay there. Excellent experience. Just know there are no lifts. But luggage is easily handle. Rooms very adequate, comfortable and pleasant

On a medieval village above Cagnes sur Mer this small hotel is perfectly situated in the village square without traffic- only the clicking of boules and happy cries of children. Upgraded to the suite as there was a problem with a/c ( the Manager put us straight there we didn’t even see the other room). Little terrace with views over the Roman tiled roofs. Big room with tasteful deco and antique furniture. V comfy bed and pillows- modern bathroom- shower pressure and temperature variable but I’m ok with this in old buildings. The manager was really friendly and pro. It was Monday night and the restaurant was open. Really impressed with list of cocktails- a champagne mojito was perfect to watch the sunset. Dinner was excellent, fresh and super well cooked by the young Italian chef. Homemade fois gras followed by risotto lightened with a red pepper purée and fresh lobster. Amazing! Great wine advice from the waiter Nico who’s service, knowledge and friendliness were just impeccable! Would highly recommend for drinks, dinner and to stay. The village is fascinating too. Not much parking so we parked overnight in the underground parking at 16€ for afternoon and overnight. Not too excessive. Good Memories- thank you team Grimaldi!

An oasis for my tired legs from hiking. I relaxed and watched a boule match. That evening at the restaurant, the waiter brought out a fresh sea bass which he then filleted and they cooked it to perfection with locally sourced vegetables and potatoes. There is a free shuttle leaving every 15 minutes that takes you down the hillside.

We recently stayed in this hotel and loved our experience. Located right atop the medieval town, in the center of the square, we were lucky to be there for the festival of music and Renoir’s anniversary celebration. The place has a good restaurant but is surrounded by about four other restaurants. Warning to future clients: there is no elevator and the corkscrew staircase is steep. But once we arrived to our room in the very top, it was a lovely surprise with a small terrace with a view of the sea. The bathroom was super clean and modern and had everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The bed, with its crisp white cotton sheets, was one of the best beds I have ever slept in. The staff was more than accommodating and friendly.

Stayed in the suite on the top floor, absolutely charming. Very modern and beautiful bathroom, outside patio with wonderful view of the whole coastline. No lift, must be good at spiral stairs - but definitely worth it for us. Ceiling is very low in half the room, watch your head! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very responsive to email questions. The restaurant with outdoor seating and spectacular view was wonderful. Right next to Chateau Grimaldi, definitely worth a visit. Location makes driving there and parking a challenge, recommend parking in the modern city below and taking the free shuttle bus, every 15 minutes and only takes 7 or 8 minutes to get there. Once there, exploring the old town on foot is a pleasure. Prices are extremely reasonable!

We were staying at Le Cagnard and decided to have morning coffee and relax reading here. The waiter/owner/maitre d ? was brilliant. Very welcoming, charming and just lovely. We decided to stay for lunch and it was fabulous. The menu was very varied including specials of the day which were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We ate here a number of times and it was the highlight of our holiday. Definitely be back!

Set in the heart of the old historic town, this quaint hotel is charming. Genuine customer service by Gerard and his team who were lovely and made us feel at home immediately. Arrived very late but they still provided us with a tasty supper. We will return and thank you.

Had a lovely dinner in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were served an amuse bouche which was very tasty. We had starters of a goats cheese salad which came with Parma crisps and a dish of large prawns and avocado. Both were superb. This was followed by mixed seafood and a tagliatini with prawns. The freshly made pasta was delicious in a shellfish sauce. A really good meal, I would recommend. We will be back.
