We've spent a couple of nights in this very nicely refurbished chateau at the end of august 2010 and even though I'd agree with most opinions that the place itself is very pleasant and neat, I tend to think that not only it lacks something in terms of character but also that the service is really below what you'd expect...

My husband and I have just returned from our first trip to Carpentras, France. Prior to doing so we canvassed our friends and all recommended we stay at Chateau du Martinet. With so many glowing recommendations, we were dubious that this accommodation could live up to what we expected. Not only did it live up to it, as far as...

Andrea, Claudia & Camillo - milano (Italy) ; We spent eight days at Chateau Du Martinet at the end of July 2010. It,s a very good place and a wonderful way to live in the history and visit the best attractions of the Provence region. Comfortable , spacious and luxury accomodation. Room service excellent . The breakfast on the terrace...

Having just got married in Tuscany we decided to honeymoon in Italy and France as we made our way slowly back to the UK. As an interior designer my wife has very high standards when it comes to hotel accommodation, so I was a bit apprehensive about where I was booking, especially as I had no word-of-mouth recommendations for anywhere...

I was rather disappointed by the rennovation they made. All French atmosphere was distroyed by it. The cheap floor in the entrance (should be marble but it's just the one from the building center) is just the beginning when you step in. - And so it goes on and one in the main building. There is really nothing chateau like,...

This summer I discovered one of the most serene place in France. We took the TGV from Paris to Avignon (so convenient and fast!) then rented a car to explore the surrounding area. We wanted to visit Chateau Neuf de Pape to see the wineries in that area and found Chateau du Martinet in the Michelin guide book. Easy to...

We booked to stay at one of the lodges in the grounds of the chateau. We made a reservation by telephone a few months in advance, telling the owner that we were travelling with our 16 month old daughter. He recommended that we stay at the more expensive of the two lodges since it had a separate room for my...

We initially planned to stay in Avignon but after visiting we decided to look outside of the city and found Martinet on the net so thought we'd take a look. It really is a stunning chateau and the grounds are beautiful, it's hard to resist when you first arrive, the room & bathroom were so spacious and we loved the...

Yes, your stay here will cost more than the usual amount you spend on rooms but it represents fantastic value for money. If you want an experience of a lifetime try this place. The photographs do not do it justice. The reality is so much better. It is like staying in a stately home. Raymond and Francoise de Vries could...
