We only stayed overnight enroute to a rental house in a small village. Much more our style. Avignon is extremely touristy and we were there at the end of a long and presumably tiring season. The hotel is in a good central location. The staff were excellent with helpful suggestions for good dining. The morning breakfast was largely homemade and...

Stayed in this really nice hotel during October. It is in an ancient house in a quiet and pedestrian street, in the heart of the city, next to the Horloge Square. From booking and all through my stay the lady on reception was lovely, she organised gluten free bread for breakfast for me and when I arrived she gave me...

Owner is a friendly and most considerate host. He lived in the US for a time and speaks excellent English. He is a source of much good and practical advice on what this beautiful city has to offer. Breakfasts were excellent, including home-made pastries every day along with everything else one might expect. Finally, a great location an easy walk...

This little restored old hotel with about a dozen rooms is located in the heart of historic Avignon and walking distance from everything in the old town. The rooms were small but very nice, excellent TV, wonderful homemade breakfasts and absolutely superb help in English. This was a great selection for 4 older Americans. Only drawback were the steep winding...

I started off this review thinking I would give an overall rating of 4 stars, but as I wrote the following, I realised that it really is excellent value for money, so I've pushed it up to 5 stars. We stayed one night on our way back to the UK. The lady on reception could not have been more helpful...

I`ll come clean; I`m coming from a point of view that since my days of hard times I usually stay in 4* or 5* hotels. My main priority in Avignon was being inside the walls. The queries I put to the chain hotels in the old town were not satisfied so I decided on Garlande. At #1 on tripadvisor I...

We had a room booked for October 2016, but a medical emergency grounded us. We canceled well in advance, but were billed the full cost of the stay. The terms of booking state that the hotel can charge the full amount if one cancels less than 10 days ahead of the planned stay. We were hoping that the hotel would...

This is a nice small hotel in the centre of Avignon within walking distance of all the sites. We had a nice room on the front on the 1st floor which meet our expectations. The breakfasts were very good and worth the money as mainly all yogart/jam/breads were homemade and they catered for gluten free. We found the owners to...
