One would think that I have a bias on commenting on that hotel. Maybe ! I'm not related in any way to this place even if my last name may make you believe that. I paid a visit to this place and I can assure you that my stay was incomparable. Prices are a bit on the expensive side, but... More

Husband and I spent 3 nights here in the beginning of May. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. We had a rental car.It was a bit tricky getting to the hotel. The roads in town are very narrow and the signage for the hotel is not obvious so that coupled with the fact that the hotel is very pricey(if... More

Avignon has lots of history. Parts of it are really charming. But, it's really overrun with tourists and there isn't much to do in the town. Much better to stay inside the La Mirande and enjoy superb food, excellent cooking classes and read in the beautiful garden. Staff were very friendly and eager to help. Great hotel pity about the... The hotel is in a wonderful pedestrian only location in the center of the old town adjacent to the Palais du Pape. We drove from Marseilles and the concierge provided excellent directions to reach the front door of the hotel with our car. The streets are very narrow and you need to enter through a security gate to gain access... More

This hotel is ideally situated right next to the Pope's palace in Avignon. It used to be, in fact, a part of the palace until the palace was downsized. On the outside, the hotel is not much to look at. The entrance is rather small and the streets leading up to it are winding and narrow, and it is a... More

I felt this was a very pleasant hotel in an amazing location. It is literally adjacent to the Palais des Papes, so you really couldn't ask for something better-located for tourism purposes. I generally felt the service was very good, from the meticulous maid service to the waiter at the prix fixe afternoon tea bending the rules a little to... More

La Mirande is a well-restored 17th century stone building that has an absolutely stunning outdoor dining area next to the Palace of the Popes. The rooms are quaint and romantic, with modern features blending well with historic elements. There is a great internal courtyard for drinks and gathering, and a great room next to a quaint bar that plays jazz... More

We spend a couple of nights at La Mirande while attending a wedding nearby. The old buildings and grounds are stunning and timeless. The breakfast was excellent. The location is perfect right next to the Palais. And the atmosphere is very peaceful. On the other hand, our room wasn't properly soundproofed, so we heard any noise outside or above us... More

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in this little lap of luxury in Avignon. Despite being a very old building it was generally not short of modern technology - wifi was great everywhere in the hotel. Just don't expect cable television. We wanted to watch one of the Euro 2016 football matches very dear to our hearts but... More

Did not stay at this hotel but attended a cooking class there conducted by Chef Severine Sagnet. This was a highlight of our Southern France visit. A wine tasting was also part of the class and very well done. Wonderful dinner for 19 of us was superbly conducted by Chef Severine and her two assistants. A MUST IF YOU CAN... More
