We used this as the base for visiting the small villages and lavender fields of Provence. It worked out perfect because of the nearby train station and location. We also were able to visit Nimes and Pont du Gard which were not that far away. The hotel itself is beautiful with quintessentially French decor. It has a beautiful little courtyard... More

There isn't a nicer hotel in old town Provence . Sensational setting and just stunning finishes to every aspect of the hotel . The interiors are old world luxury and the staff are lovely too . It's not cheap but it's sensational . The food was beautifully presented and the the coffee was actually pretty good for a change

This is an absolutely lovely hotel. Elegant, historic, and classic, from the large patio out front where one can enjoy a meal or drink, to the large and very comfortable rooms, which are equipped with all the amenities one could want. The staff is superb and all speak very good English. They park your car for you, but when you... More

We spent four nights here in June, 2015. Excellent English speaking staff is anxious to please. Asked if one of the top floor penthouses were available for upgrade and got it for just a very few euros more. Well worth it. Really enjoyed breakfast in the courtyard every morning and drinks there in the evening. This is our second stay... More

The staff was first class - helped with everything. My father became ill while we were there and they arranged for a doctor to come to the hotel and see him. The location was perfect to walk everywhere.

My wife and I have recently returned from a wonderful ten day holiday in Provence. The Hotel d'Europe is a historic hotel situated inside the old city walls of Avignon. The staff were professional and friendly and that means all of them from the front desk to the maids. The hotel could not be better situated for exploring Avignon a... More

The room was beautiful and spacious. We loved the location inside the old city wall. We walked around the old city and ran and biked outside the wall. There was shopping and restaurants within walking distance.

This is a 5 star hotel. Make no mistake. The staff is excellent, our room was huge. We were so busy we didn't try the food at the hotel restaurant, though. The in-room mini-bar was very well priced such that we actually used it! The hotel is an easy walk to/from anywhere you want to go in Avignon and the... More

We were here for 6 nights and it was an incredible experience. Our room was spacious and beautiful. I cannot say enough about the staff here. They made all of our recommendations for dinner each night and everyone of them was excellent! They helped us with directions and even arranged a day tour. We were fortunate to have nice weather... Stayed two nights in a "superior" room with a view of some surrounding streets. This is a first class hotel and a classic location inside the walls of the old city and a short walk from the Palais des Papes. On the plus side, the staff was professional and helpful, the bed was comfortable and the room clean and well... More
