My wife and I stayed at Hotel du Musee for three nights about two weeks ago - based on the strong recommendations of others on TripAdvisor and RickSteves' guidebook. The hotel staff were very kind, helpful and welcoming. In particular, we appreciated the kindness and...More
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Arles. It is about 10-15 minutes walk from the train station along the river, and a few minutes from the town centre and main sites of interest. It is worth noting that there is no lift and...More

Hi, We walked both from the Train station on arrival and back again on departure - on the way in we went through the old city gate and you pass by the hotel/bar that Van Gogh stayed in at some point - we were early for our room, so walked straight into the old town centre to sit down for a drink.
Again, on leaving we walked, but this time along the river.
I would say it's a 15 minute stroll either way, so if you only have small/Medium suitcase or hand luggage to take with you then it's not a problem.
