Didn't like location; really not as close as many have said it is to town. Quite a distance from train and bus stations. Town is difficult to navigate with narrow streets; we got lost every time we ventured out. Rooms are small but clean with comfortable bed and yes!!! air conditioning that was quiet and very efficient. Ask for a...

My husband and I stayed one night in Aix. This hotel was on the border of ok and poor. I gave it a two because while the staff were friendly and helpful, the quality of the hotel was pretty bad. The lack of a lift didn't bother us at all (but we are young and somewhat fit). It was the...

If you are a fan of Harry Potter than this is the place for you! Experience authentic closet sized rooms! In all seriousness though the hotel is not exactly what I expected. Hotel: The front entrance is actually in the back alley. Our checkin receptionist spoke English and gave us a room on the third floor. We dealt with another...

We booked this hotel for a family of four and were a little concerned about how accommodating it will be since most hotels in Europe have tiny rooms and even tinier bathrooms. So a family of four traveling in Europe really has to do their research to find hotels that will prove accommodating by providing spacious rooms and family friendly...

This simple hotel does exactly what it should. It has small, simple rooms in the middle of the city. The rooms are quiet, cool (thank goodness for air-con that works well, quietly) and efficient. Everything works. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is tasty. Great value for money too!

Great design-very Japanese in the use of a small space. Affordable and not far from the centre. The staircase is quite narrow though. Receptionist was helpful. Clean, quiet and good value. Aix en Provence was a last minute plan and we don't regret it all all. A wonderful surprise.

We stayed in their apartment, quite spacious. A king bed and a twin in one big room, a small but adequate bathroom, and a small barely equipped kitchen. Location was good, could walk anywhere in town and could park the car nearby. Price was right. Problems: kitchen plates/cups were put away DIRTY, just obviously uncleaned (the rest of the apt...

I'm aware that Aix en provence is quite an expensive City to stay in, as I've visited before, but I still wasn't massively impressed with Hotel des Arts for value or reliability, however one thing it does have going for it is that it's location is quite close to the centre ville. pokey little cupboard room (double room) staff were...

Heading for a trip down the Canal Du Midi after Spain and Morocco, and stopping at small towns along the way. The front door looks like a prison entrance, but the room was redone and quite good. Another clerk who couldn't get the internet to work for quite a while. My advice is to just skip Aix and go to...

• Location is good if you have a car. We were able to get street parking (requires meter payment from 8:00 a.m.-noon and 2:00-7:00 p.m.) close to the hotel. • It's close to the center of things but if you don't like to walk, choose someplace else, though you'll likely pay a good bit more. • If you are claustrophobic or have vertigo,...
