On the plus side, this hotel is well located near the centre of town But the decor and furnishings are badly in need of updating. There is a miniscule bathroom where some actions were almost physically impossible. No lift to reach reception on first floor or rooms above. Finally, I object to being asked to pay on arrival; it's not... More

This hotel is charming and old. Rooms are on second and third floors, no elevator so those who have trouble with stairs should avoid. Rooms were large, clean and well cared for. Service is limited, the staff seems fairly small since the property itself is also not large.

Very good location on the outskirts of the Old Town. We were in a 2 bedroom room in an adjacent building. I think that some people may find this a bit disconcerting as it is a walk from the main hotel & obviously not near to the reception etc. We weren't particularly phased by it. The room was ok, could... More

The Hotel Artea is excellently situated in the heart of Aix-en-Provence, in an old building just a few minutes' walk from the Cours Mirabeau. The rooms we had were comfortably spacious, the bathrooms small but sufficient. I say "rooms" plural, however, because when we arrived, we were not allocated the type of room requested (and acknowledged) when booking. This was... More

Very near the center of aix en provence, rooms are spacious, bed comfortable, price is a bit high but aix is expensive anyways so it's kind of a standard. The room just got a weird smell , not sure if its coming from the shower curtains. Aircon can be much improved. Friendly receptionists :)

Despite an unpromising exterior, this hotel ticked all our boxes. Central location but quiet; spacious room with comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom; delicious pastries and moist scrambled eggs at breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. A great discovery

We were not aware that the family room for 4 people was actually in a separate building from the main hotel building. Was surprised when asked by the concierge to walk to the separate building by ourselves (she did give us general directions though). It ended up safe, but mentally it may be nerve-wrecking to have to live in a... More

This place had a great location, it is walking distance to city center (4 minute walk max), and only a 10 minute walk from the bus and train station. The Hotel Artea is in a great location close to the Gare Routiere, the old town and all the major sites of Aix-en-Provence. The room was large and comfortable and quiet.
