Travelers' Choice
"A secret garden in Aix-en-Provence" The Hotel Le Pigonnet is an enchanting escape in the heart of Aix-en-Provence. This elegant Provence bastide combines the 18th century warmth with a contemporary style in order to offer guests a pure delight of charm and peacefulness, where the heaven’s doors are always opened. And imagine admiring the majestic Sainte-Victoire Mountain as through the eyes of the renowned painter Paul Cézanne. The beautiful garden remains a real place to live where regular guests, guests on holidays or people from the city, play the traditional “pétanque”, enjoy the swimming pool or savor southern cuisine dishes, at the restaurant La Table du Pigonnet. Take a stroll around this marvelous garden. The magic and peaceful atmosphere makes you believe you are not in the heart of the city. This haven of peace is lined up with century chestnut trees, a blooming arcade with roses of a thousand colors. Le Pigonnet currently brings Aix locals and tourists from around the globe together via fine dining and music. Traditions and modern art de vivre are rolled into one, making the hotel an ideal base for touring the south. It is also a destination in itself. Relax to the sound of the water features and walk in Paul Cézanne's footsteps. No need to go far to escape as you explore the delightful sections one after another.

this is the first review i have ever written We booked 2 rooms both with the same rate one room #21 was fine except the shower was broken which the hotel promptly repaired. the second room #10 was awful it was down a dingy hallway that served as a storage area the room itself had no head board , nothing on the walls , room was was dark and depressing i politely asked the manager to change rooms and his reply was that the hotel was fully booked and that we were lucky to even get a room . He refused to adjust the rate and was surly and not the least bit apologetic t

Dear Charles B, The entire Pigonnet team was more than delighted to welcome you and your family for such an exceptional occasion. Please accept my deepest apologies for the fact that one of the rooms your family stayed in was not up to your expectations. All our rooms are quite different in style and layout. The one, you are mentioning has recently been refurbished with natural color wood flooring and a light blue color paint on the walls. We were unfortunately not able to offer you an alternative as we were indeed fully booked but we have taken good note of your preferences in order to propose you a room of a different style for your next visit. The well being and the happiness of our valued guest is my priority, and I would like to express how sorry I am if you felt I lacked compassion and understanding. It will be my honor if you contact me directly for your next trip in Provence so I can personally take care of your stay. Thanking you very much for mentioning the high quality of the service as well as the uniqueness of the property. Kind regards

Amazing, wonderful, everything everyone else has said. The only thing I have to add is that there’s a difference between hotels that welcome dogs and hotels that only tolerate dogs. At checkin, the lovely receptionist said to me if I need anything for my dog they’ll do what they can to help. During our stay that staff were so sweet and kind to her. It really helped us enjoy ourselves knowing she was a welcome guest too.

We had the most phenomenal holiday at Le Pigonnet this August 2021! The staff was incredible -- so warm, friendly, and helpful and just amazing all around. We were traveling with our young son (17 months) and the staff could not have been more accommodating when it came to meeting his needs, including making special dinner for him, as well as providing warm milk. I must make a special mention of Hugh, Abibu, Charlotte and Isabel, who all went above and beyond! The rooms were well appointed, spacious enough for our purposes and maintained daily. The pool was an absolute delight, and just being in the gardens and having breakfast every morning in the beautiful scenery was such a privilege. It truly felt like we were experiencing the traditional Provencal moment every day at Le Pigonnet. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Aix-En-Provence (the hotel is only a few minutes walking from the center of town), and Provence generally as it is a great jumping off point for the rest of the region (and there is parking which is so helpful for exploring the area)!

This was our 4th time in Le Pigonnetn and is was as expected: perfect for us. We had junior suite which was good for our 4 family of 4. We spent more time at the hotel pool and suite terrace, so room was efficiently used for showers/baths/sleeping. Our stay involved the use of transport services (worked really well) and reservations for restaurants in the city as well as in the hotel. Best dinners were at the hotel, which has unique ambience due to the garden and of course also the quality of food and service. The bar in the garden is also very cool with good drinks and relaxing time. We had few small issues which were quickly solved by the staff: not enough hangers in the closet for the volume of clothes we had; need for ironing; ran out of toilet paper. Warm thank you again to the hotel , and especially the young lady who served us at the breakfast on three mornings: friendly, understanding our needs and fast!
