"A secret garden in Aix-en-Provence" The Hotel Le Pigonnet is an enchanting escape in the heart of Aix-en-Provence. This elegant Provence bastide combines the 18th century warmth with a contemporary style in order to offer guests a pure delight of charm and peacefulness, where the heaven’s doors are always opened. And imagine admiring the majestic Sainte-Victoire Mountain as through the eyes of the renowned painter Paul Cézanne. The beautiful garden remains a real place to live where regular guests, guests on holidays or people from the city, play the traditional “pétanque”, enjoy the swimming pool or savor southern cuisine dishes, at the restaurant La Table du Pigonnet. Take a stroll around this marvelous garden. The magic and peaceful atmosphere makes you believe you are not in the heart of the city. This haven of peace is lined up with century chestnut trees, a blooming arcade with roses of a thousand colors. Le Pigonnet currently brings Aix locals and tourists from around the globe together via fine dining and music. Traditions and modern art de vivre are rolled into one, making the hotel an ideal base for touring the south. It is also a destination in itself. Relax to the sound of the water features and walk in Paul Cézanne's footsteps. No need to go far to escape as you explore the delightful sections one after another.

The Hotel le Pigonnet was exceptional in every way. It's like staying at a private country house with exquisite gardens, dotted with comfortable wicker chairs, a dining terrace where the food is superb, an outside bar where they serve creative cocktails along with wonderfully nostalgic music of the 70's & 80's, and a warm, welcoming feeling throughout the hotel. The staff was outstanding and made us feel like cherished friends after only one day. They were appropriately covid conscious without it being a burden. Masks all around and lots of hand sanitizer stations. Our only regret is that we were there for only four days. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.

This hotel is fabulous in every respect. The staff are professional and courteous, the rooms are clean, comfortable, fresh, and bed linen and towels are of the highest quality. Breakfast on the terrace is a treat, and reason enough to return to this hotel. The gardens are beautiful and, although the pool is relatively small and busy, it was August and I would imagine it is rather more empty in other months. Loved the hotel and Aix and will definitely go back.

It is a good option in Aix. Nice traditional hotel with very nice gardens where to have all different meals. However, many important details fail the 5 stars mark or even the stunning experience internet suggests: the pool is basic, old fashioned and offers no service, the restaurant which is good gives an extremely limited menu, and again, falls short of what it suggests. Finally, very poor concierge’s advice. Short 15 minutes walk from Aix old town. So on the whole, it is a nice experience.

Dear InesandDaniel1969, We feel very sorry that your experience did not match your expectations. You are right, our usual standards pre-Covid were higher with a full service at the pool and a wider choice on the menu, unfortunately this pandemic situation has forced us to make a few adjustments that we hope will not last forever. As per our concierge service, we feel your comment is unfair considering the attention given to your demands. We have nevertheless taken good note that you felt it was not enough. Thanking you for your understanding, we hope to have the pleasure to welcoming you back in the future. Best regards

We had a wonderful gastronomic lunch at le Pigonnet. Very fairly priced at €50 for a three course lunch. We decided to follow the sommelier in service’s recommendation for a white bottle of wine (baron G. Of chateau de bellet) to pair with our lunch. A sublime bottle that matched the quality of entrée, main and dessert. The only thing that outshone the quality of our culinairy experience was the extraordinary politeness of the staff and the beauty of the garden we had the lunch in. Highly recommended!
