Under the light Cezanne once knew, the Villa Gallici Hotel,18th century Provencal house member of Relais et Chateaux, provides many luxury services, a gastronomical restaurant registered in the main guides, a shady seven acre garden with a swimming-pool, a nice place to relax a few steps away from the heart of the city of Aix-en-Provence.The Villa Gallici Residence is richly furnished with French and sumptuous fabrics. The menus are limited, but what is offered is excellent. The service is superb. The atmosphere is most charming. It's close enough to the old part of Aix-en-Provence to walk to, but just enough away so that it's very quiet. All you hear in the morning is birds singing, and at night you can see the stars. The garden is one of the best features, with interesting contemporary sculpture. All I really missed was someone playing the piano in the background while we were eating dinner.

Review collected in partnership with Relais & Chateaux
This property is in need of attention. Poor hot water and internet service. Some awkward room layouts with internal steps. Burnt out light bulbs in lamps went unchanged for several days after notice. Limited menu options. Inconvenient location within city. Aix-en-Provence is not worth visiting; there are much nicer destinations in Provence.

This hotel is a bit of paradise in Aix en Provence. The rooms are lavishishly french along with the hotel decor. Beautiful gardens, fountains and roses everywhere. Staff professional and friendly. Hotel restaurant very good. Nothing better than breakfast on the terrace. One of my all time favorite hotels. Highly recommend.

We love Aix-en-Provence and wanted to visit again, so decided last minute to go. Looking for a nice place to sleep and eat and being fond of Relais & Chateaux, we ended up at Villa Gallici and booked also a table at the restaurant. The location is just on the outskirts of the city but very quiet. The room was very nice, rather large with large bathroom with next to a large bath an Italian walkin shower, we love that. The decor goes very well with the building and its surroundings. We had their signature menu and choose a bottle of Provence red wine, which was ecquisite, instead of the wine pairing. The food was of very good quality served by a very professional and friendly staff The next morning we enjoyed a splendid breakfast, large choice and of good quality As this is still winter time it was a petty that we could not enjoy the outside but inside was very nice too We will definitely be back to enjoy the outside. Overall a nice place that we can recommend.

Staying here is like a one-of-a-kind experience. It has all the luxe but that very genuine provencal atmosphere and feels to it. We loved our overnight stay in the middle of November where the weather is still crispy but with enough sunlight to keep you warm and happy. The staff was great and knowledgeable and the amenities are very nice. The details and decor is so beautiful that I wish it was easy to purchase some of the antiques and ship it back home. We got a duplex which was not as big but the gorgeous bathroom more than made up for it. We loved the sweet touches of rose petals, treats, and notes that were laid out upon arrival. We also took advantage of the spa access and tried the jacuzzi and steam/shower right after our very expensive but amazing dinner at their restaurant. It was definitely a one-of-a-kind splurge for our honeymoon and it was worthwhile. Rooms during off-peak season like ours were quite affordable. The location is not as central, but since we had a car, it was easy for us to go around.
