Paul Cézanne missed Aix terribly whenever he left, and never ceased to be inspired by its beauty. Many after him succumbed to the charm of this town and the ambience of this Florentine residence. The rooms are sumptuously decorated, and open onto a private garden filled with the fragrance of lavender. The cuisine pays tribute to Provence with dishes like sautéed loin of lamb and aubergine caviar with olives, black garlic sauce and fried basil. Try the famous local speciality of Calisson, sweets flavoured with melon and orange. Villa Gallici offers a special “Cézanne package”, which includes a visit to the painter’s studio.

We had a very lovely stay at Villa Gallici. The staff is terrific in both the hotel and dining room. We had a very nice dinner the first night but did not return for dinner again since the menu was limited but more importantly did not change during our 4 night stay. Some have issues w the outdated furniture, I do not, it works. The gardens are well maintained and simply lovely. When we stayed the hotel was far from full yet they charged me 20 Euros a night to park-to me very tricky tack and left a very vile taste especially given the overall cost of the room. Just silly

This Ralais & Chateau property did not disappoint. It's stunningly beautiful and so discreet. You'd never know what's behind those beautiful gates. The service at every point of contact was absolute perfection. Walking distance to the old town.

Absolutely love it here -- so much so that we extended our stay. The masseuse, Camille, is ultra-talented (the best massage I've ever had, really) and a reason alone to visit. Love that the stay includes afternoon tea, they allow pets without extra charge, and the decor and atmosphere is very cozy and luxurious.

The hotel has an old era charm and feel to it - and that is its best selling point. However, some of the furniture and walls looked in real need of some revamping and restoration. The overall amenities in the hotel are good and it is also really nice to spot some A class Hollywood celebrities dining and hanging around. The service is what really disappointed me the most. The lack of staff in the pools, the slow and careless pace of the breakfast service, the unwillingness to go the extra mile were noticeable. France is widely known for having the absolute best and absolute worst customer service in the World when it comes to hotels, and I certainly did not feel this one matched the level of other ultra luxurious and private hotels in the region. All in all it was a disappointing experience, even if no major flaws were spotted.

This small attractive hotel offers all the services one would expect from a relais château property. The staff is attentive and friendly and the facilities are excellent Including a very good spa offering. The rooms and public areas are spotless and attractively decorated with an abundance of soft furnishing, heavy curtains and fabrics. This may not suit the lovers of cold minimalist boutique hotel but if you like me enjoy old fashion traditional luxury this is the place to stay in Aix. Away from the buzzing centre but still a short stroll to all the main attractions. When we visited just at the end of Covid 19 confinement the staff were still finding their way with the new protocol but that whats to be expected. We shall be back soon.

We recently booked the Villa Gallici for a four night stay, but it was not for us. The property is immaculate, and the staff very good, but the interiors and rooms were very dark, heavy and there was dark fabric everywhere. We also found the property to be very small, and every day and evening until about 8pm there was the incessant noise of sirens because the property is very near a hospital. We had to leave two days early. The originally told us they were going to charge us for both of the nights we would not be there because per the fine print in their policy, once we arrived we are bound for every night in the reservation. We had not prepayed or booked as a non refundable reservation. I asked if the hotel was full on the nights that we would not be there. It was NOT. They ultimately agreed to charge us "only" for one night, we weren't there. The whole thing was stressful. Their policy position is not the reason for this less than good review, and if it was high season I would understand, but to charge us $600 for an empty room is not my idea of good customer relations. And I would say that the service is exceedingly polite but not really warm. We love France, and had just come from another lovely property, so I guess we had high expectations that were not met.

The Villa Gallici has impeccable service and a friendly, organized staff. The same people seem to be working all the time. I don't know how they do it. The gardens are lovely. The rooms are a bit small but charming and spotless. The food is excellent. I could not find any issue at all with the hotel. Hated to leave! Shout out to Elsa, who was truly concerned if my husband liked his drink. So nice. Julie is also very nice. The icing on the cake was when I forgot my passports in the safe and Christel was on it. Thanks YOU!! He quickly overnighted them to our next hotel. First class service in every way. I hope to be back very soon. Just the best experience ever.

This is truly one of the most remarkable properties in the world. Every inch of this place is meticulously loved and brings joy and serenity. I literally cried when we were shown our villa (Villa Cezanne #19- oh my goodness!!) This was our own little gated compound with an opulent outdoor hot tub, gardens, chaises, not to mention the perfectly decorated interiors with a separate magical garden library, luxurious bathroom, the most beautiful wardrobe closets I’ve ever seen. I could not believe this was our home for the next 4 nights! We had actually planned on doing more day trips around Provence but found ourselves wanting to stay on the property and enjoy the gorgeous pool, spa, gardens and our Villa. The staff were exceptional, attentive. The food was excellent from breakfast to the gastronomic dinner. Even room service was delectable. Any negative reviews of this place have to be fake- it’s that divine! Definitely romantic. I just learned a family member celebrated their honeymoon here years ago and were equally blown away. I would plan to give yourself some downtime to stay and enjoy this property. Like me, you might never want to leave! Great job to everyone who works so hard to make this place so special! Thank you!
