If you like modern sleep boxes look elsewhere. This hotel is an old hotel from the days of mail coaches. It creaks and has quirky spaces--- it is tired and needs new bathrooms, but it is quiet, clean and comfortable with extremely helpful and efficient staff. The dinner was very good and the breakfast excellent. We had always been intrigued...

Great little city and very nice small hotel. A little faded in places but perfectly acceptable. Great location in the centre of the town and they have a very pleasant restaurant. Breakfast very good and staff excellent. Bathroom a little faded but rooms good.

An excellent stopover hotel in a very interesting, elevated historic town less than 10 mins off the autoroute. Very convenient when driving to the Alps, or indeed just visiting the area. The staff were efficient, polite, friendly and helpful. They were happy to converse in English or in our very average French. The room was large and clean in a...

Quirky hotel with small baths ,sloping floors great age and character.Garage spaces tight and 7 euros pn extra.Staff very friendly but a little slow in acknowledging when you book direct with them. Dinner was good and so was the breakfast. Do visit the Cathedral if you have time ..it is stunning

I loved this hotel, my room and the stay. I stayed in a nice size room which was well maintained and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bath and shower were clean. This hotel is a new favorite of mine and I hope to go back some day. The wifi in the room was better then other much more...

We saw this hotel a few years ago on a fleeting visit to Laon, and liked the look of it; our recent two-night visit lived up to expectations. Leaving aside the charm and historical qualities of Laon (about which one could wax profuse), the hotel exudes authentic French hospitality. We stayed in Room 3 - spacious and comfortable, albeit a...

Located in an older building, this hotel has been an inn since 17 th century. Obviously this is noticed when you stay here. One people rooms are cheaper (and smaller) than rooms for couples. We had two queens beds in a spacious room. Buffet breakfast was not continental, eggs and saucisses provided. There are 4 indoor parking spots in the...

.The hotel is in a very central position Our room no 3 had a problem with the bath/shower as the switch from one to the other did not work so only the shower worked, we had specifically asked for a room with a bath The room and furniture were not upto standard and the owner was very unhelpful accusing us...

This place reminded me of the sort of place I used to stay in with my parents in the 1970's. This means that the decor is 40 years out of date, the mattress is concave and the plumbing is dodgy. On the plus side the service is very friendly and helpful although unlike the 70's the staff all speak good...

If you like to stay in characterless grey boxes, this is not the place for you! However if you like hotels to be different and have their history still visible, this is the one. We chose Laon just to break the journey from the Dover-Calais ferry to the south of France, but were so enchanted we stayed an extra 2...
