Pulled up to camp and the first thing you noticed was the weeds in all the flower beds and pots around the main office. It looked very drab and unloved. Reception was closed but had left a sign on the door for which plot we should take, parked and set up the camper and had a look around. The whole... More

Pitches of a good size, mainly enclosed by shrubs, showers and toilets clean and tidy. There had been severe rainfall and a couple of site roads and some pitches were out of use, the in use ones had potholes, water logging etc., they were trying to sort this out whilst we were there. It felt like the grass and shrubs... More

We stayed at this site last year and loved it. Pitches were good and you can pay for huge pitches and ones with Loire view. Facilities good. Reception helpful. The site is in lovely area and the views are great. Close to the lovely wine caves and tastings. Ackerman was great and wine fab. However we visited Chentepie early June... More

We visited Camping de Chantepie on 4 June for three nights so high season had yet to kick off. The site is a delightful mid-size, four-star campsite in the hills overlooking the Loire which is deserving of its rating. At this time of year residents tend to be retirees in camper vans and caravans so the place is quite quiet... More

Over all the campsite has a general feeling of neglect. Our first 2 nights where fine, the third night we had some extremely loud neighbours, we where woken in the middle of the night and unable to get back to sleep until around 6/7am. Some of the other people in the campsite asked them to keep it down but this... More

Virtually no hot water to wash dishes. Showers OK until more than 2 people in the shower complex at the same time. Than luke warm or cold. We intended to stay for 14 nights but left after 5 nights to go to a much cheaper site with constant hot water. Electricity also weak. Blew fuse when put kettle on with... More

This was one of three camp sites we stayed on during a holiday in France. it had very good, clean facilities especially the showers and washrooms etc. A quiet peaceful atmosphere conducive to a very pleasant holiday. My wife had never camped before and was somewhat hesitant but at a camp site like this it was a roaring success. Camping... More

Our fourth visit, and Chantepie is still a lovely relaxed family campsite. Beautiful surroundings and views. Facilities good, but starting to be a little rough round the edges - surround to the main pool is plain dangerous. Wished that the management would enforce a few rules - stopping the huge inflatables (apparently banned) from the pool, and kerbing the endless... More

Booked here for 3 nights at beginning of September. Our allocated pitch was one of the 5 best on site, prefixed by letter L. Suggest you book well ahead for one of these, amazing view over the Loire. Sadly it had been double booked! So after great disappointment and discussion with staff we actually vacated next day. Site facilities however... More

Great campsite in a stunning location overlooking the Loire. Our children (6 and 3) loved the pools and play areas. We had a normal pitch which was really big and perfectly fine but the Loire pitches did look amazing. We liked the fact that there were no statics and no evening entertainment, the site was really peaceful. The restaurant was... More
