We were there in May 2015, we had a nice stay, the host was charming, the room was perfect, and the breakfeast with fresh bread and croissants too. We walked in town and went to a good restaurant. Would like to return.

We stayed here for one largely due to the many rave reviews it received. Well I don't know what these reviewers are used to, but it was a big disappointment to us. The strictly enforced no entry till 17.00 policy wasn't a great start and most inconvenient. When we eventually made it through the door the proprietor was very helpful,... More

My husband and I stayed here only one night during our road trip of France. This B&B is definitely a bit different from the norm and may not appeal to everyone’s tastes. My husband and I loved it for its quirkiness. Yes, the rooms are dark (they’re supposed to be!) but the one we had on the first floor overlooking... More

The top floor triple room was a bit dim and worn out with the squeakiest set of floorboards outside of a Scooby-Doo cartoon. The building itself is lovely with an off street courtyard, with ample parking opposite. Breakfast was very good. I was a bit shocked to be asked for cash on departure - if this establishment is big enough... More

Well located just across the road from the river, and a short walk from good eating places and shopping . We had extremely spacious accommodation overlooking a lovely courtyard. Breakfast was fantastic and hosts were great in recommending fantastic places to eat.

Only stayed one night but really enjoyed our stay in this great historical building. Yes the boards creak and yes the place shows it age but it is what it is. A wonderful welcome from Romain who promptly grab our bags and showed us to our large top floor room overlooking the river, the castle is sited behind the building... More

Romain greeted us on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. We were immediately made welcome. Car could be parked on the riverside parking over the road so easy access. This did mean there was traffic noise in the morning but being a 5 minute walk from the center made it worth it. We spent 2 nights and frankly had... More

Very nice B&B. Friendly host, good location (5-10 min walk to the center of Saumur). We liked the atmosphere in the back yard. Traditional French breakfast. No elevator. Free parking across the street.

Nice B & B at Saumur, with a beautiful view at the Loire, an old house, with a lot of history, beautiful garden, and Romain, the owner , he was so kind and helpful. As it was July, we take the breakfast in the courtyard. Simply...paradise.
