Stayed for one night at The Oak.The room in adjacent accommodation was quite small with twin beds there was not much room for anything else,no easy chair for example. The room was clean with a nice en suite. The food was very good -the steak pie in the evening was one of the best I have tasted.

Enjoyed a lovely family gathering here. Very accommodating, friendly, helpful staff and amazing freshly cooked food. Plenty of choice for all tastes and can't wait to return soon. Nice large garden with accommodation available on B&B basis.

Up on arrival approx 5pm the 2 rooms booked was not ready, first impressions on entering the room, it was like entering a box of crayons, with all the different colours, purple bed frame, green draws, blue walls, the bathroom was a nice lay out but could of done with an extra clean, the staff were friendly pity about the... Dear Lauren, I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. Running a busy pub and ten letting rooms, occasionally some rooms are missed and if they are not ready, guests are offered a free drink while they wait and the mistake is rectified immediately. As I explained to you, we are very rural so tv reception... More

Fairly average place. The room was tidy and simple, which works well for us. However the bathroom door was literally falling off. Which proved to be very inconvenient for getting in and out of it. The rooms are separated from the pub, but right next to it, which is good. Otherwise, it's fairly average pub food. The staff were generally... More

Booked for a Friday night whilst staying down the road camping. What a find ! Fantastic friendly service, a warm welcome for both us and the hound and delicious food. Couldn't ask for more and will definitely visit again when we are in the area. Good value too.

Super little local pub. Great service from the bar and the waitress. Really good home cooked food, super quality. I would absolutely recommend the pie. This is how pies used to be and rarely found nowWhat a great find. I would highly recommend this establishment.

We stayed a couple of nights in The Oak / Royal Oak, whilst attending a wedding in the village. The rooms are set apart from the pub a line of small simple bedrooms with good size on suite bathroom and nice shower, some parking is available in front of the rooms, otherwise it's the pub car park. There was little... More

My wife and I feel we were lucky to find this place as a base for touring around Kent and counties nearby. We had one of the ten chalets to serve as our base. Every thing that we wanted was provided. Unfortunately the TV dropped off ever so often due to poor reception, but we knew were the off button... More

As The Oaks accepted dogs in the bar area we stopped for a meal and a drink. We both had steak and Guinness pies which was a slice each from a larger pie in a shortcrust pastry. The pies were crammed full of meat and the meal was very tasty. The presentation could have been better but it is very... More

Hadn't intended to visit the Oak. We were going to eat at the Playden Oasts but this was only catering for residents. Similarly, we hadn't realised that the Hare & Hounds was closed! Hadn't been to the Oak for a number of years when - presumably - it was under different ownership. Very pleasantly surprised at what we found: a... More
