Very pleased with this family owned and operated hotel and cafe. Clean and pleasant rooms. Good food. Owners helpful and attentive with advice about hiking plans for Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Spent the day hiking the Spirit Sands and Devils Punchbowl trails. Looks like other options for hiking, swimming, etc.

My wife and I loved the Robins Nest Motel. We arrived at about 730 and Bob was really welcoming, and got us settled in quickly (which was good as food stopped being served at 8!). the food was fantastic, really tasty and filling and we never felt rushed by the staff or by Bob, we were allowed to finish in... My family needed to pick a location to meet between Minnedosa and Winnipeg; 3 members live in Minnedosa and 2 in Winnipeg. We chose this restaurant knowing absolutely nothing about it. T say we were pleased with the quality of the food and service would be a gross understatement. Our order consisted of 2 breakfasts and 3 sandwich plates including... More

Checked in found food in our bed sheets, toilet water was browm , very small room, sheets are paper thin, towels were once white but now grey. Paper thin walls woke up in the middle of the night thinking someone was in the room. Bed so soft you roll to the middle . Internet speed less than 1 mps...

Going from Winnipeg to Regina we had planned to stay in Portage La Prairie. Problem was there was a hockey tournament so no rooms. What a delight to come across this little place. At midnight in February it is quite cold so walking into a warm, clean room was a delight. Have to take the service road on the south... More

Most motels were booked up in Brandon, and received bad reviews as well. Then we found The Robin's Nest Motel on Trip Advisor and read great reviews. We were late getting there but they were there to accommodate us. We got in the room quickly and noticed it was very clean with mini fridge and microwave and satellite TV. Bed... More

July 2012 My dad was moving me out west and took a road trip along the way. Saw this little place off the highway and turned around to stay the night. I had an open truckload of my things from an expensive mountain bike to over $1000 in electronics and mx gear. The place was full, and not a thing... More

It's a very old family run motel and needs lots of work, but reasonable for the price. The food here is amazing. Even if you're only driving by highway 1, stop by for a meal or a homemade pie - to die for!
