Our family of four stayed for one night during a journey through Normandy. The hotel is not posh, but it's comfortable and our room was clean, comfortable and reasonably spacious. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The price was fantastic and location can't be beat - literally steps from the fortress in the heart of the town. If you're... More

The receptionist was very nice and helpful. Unprompted, she supplied us with tourist maps which we gratefully used. The rooms were clean and functional with tv, wifi, writing bureau and en suite bathroom. I slept very comfortably. I woke up and opened my window to a French cliche of a busy street just getting going in the early morning and... More

Got bedbugs. Bedbugs crawling all over this place. Got a new room, but should have left the place. Itching and rash all over the body. No Internet connection in room. Neon sign blinking all night outside our window.

My friends and I stayed here for two nights while travelling. The rooms felt like they were straight out of the 60's but otherwise were clean and spacious. We weren't given any soap or towels which I thought was strange but we dealt. The room was hot and the walls were extremely thin so we could hear everything. I would... More

The week had been in the mid 30s and this place didn't even have a fan, let alone a/c. The internet only worked in the breakfast room and no one could make it better. Building workers and a nearby nightclub caused us to keep the windows closed and the room was like an oven. The mattress was on a a... More

second time I have stayed here (back in 2010 with wife). This time with friends while we explored the Normandy WW II sites. Great location in the center of the city with lots of nearby history, cafes, restaurants. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. Same for the bath. A basic continental breakfast of bread, croissant, coffee, juice,... More

This is a fabulous hotel. We were met on a Saturday by a wonderful couple who I thought might run the place who were all about making their patrons happy. The location couldn't be better, downtown Caen, with the cathedral and castle just up the street in plain view. There are restaurants, bars, shopping, quaint small streets, all over. You... More

The hotel looks beautiful from the outside, but is slightly more worn and old on the inside. Still, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is amazing, in the middle of the city centre and close to the trams and most buses. The staff is incredibly friendly and make you feel very welcome.

This hotel reminded me of days gone by. The decor was basic, the bathroom looked like it had been built in a cupboard, and there were no toiletries, so it's definitely a budget hotel. The proprietor was very friendly and welcoming and we felt comfortable and at home here. It was a great location for visiting touristy sites, and there... More

This was our first visit to Caen. We were going to tour the American Normandy beaches and Caen looked like a good central point. The hotel was clean and as other people have stated, small. My son and I are over 6 feet tall and we had quite a challenge using the bathroom. The staff tried to be helpful, although... More
