We arrived in Bayeux for our Normandy tour and walked for five minutes from the train station to our hotel. We were greeted by a nice young lady who helped us get dinner reservations for that evening. We didn't stay in the main house because it didn't have air conditioning. We stayed in the new building behind the main house. If it were not summer, I would have preferred to stay in the main house as it was beautiful. That being said, the Orchad room was perfectly fine. It did provide air conditioning and a terrace facing a beautiful garden. We had a nice breakfast as well. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again.

Our group of 6 stayed three nights in rooms 1, 2 and 3 of the Orchard House recently, and it was wonderful. We slept amazingly well on their comfortable king beds, enjoying breakfast in the manor house (a short walk through a beautiful garden) each morning. All rooms were modern, immaculately clean, with large walk-in showers and plenty of space. We had a small refrigerator in each room, and the back wall is nearly all glass with a view of the end of the garden/yard. This is a quiet location and a short walk from a number of restaurants, shops and the old town Bayeux including the cathedral and Tapestry Museum. You can park a car for free on the property. We didn't go into the manor house rooms, but we can attest to the excellence of the Orchard House rooms.

The front desk, breakfast and cleaning staff were all very helpful and professional. We had everything one could ever want. They have a lovely coffee (espresso) and tea service in the beautiful wood paneled room (see their photos on-line, they are representative). I highly recommend this location whether you are touring the D-Day beaches, historical sites like Bayeux or the Fromage Road in Normandy.

I stayed for 2 nights while touring Normandie. The rooms in the original manor house are generous in size, light and bright and spotless. The staff were helpful with restaurant reservations and directions. The Tapestry museum is 1 block away and the main shopping street of this small town is 2 blocks away. Great location for a quiet stay.

We spent two nights at Domaine de Bayeux. My first night was in the original building which is newly renovated yet has old world charm. The room was spacious, sparkling clean and had wonderful French windows that overlook the beautiful backyard/ rose garden and the charming street in front of the hotel. My second night was in the newly constructed Orchard Rooms. These offer AC, a mini fridge, small table and two chairs from which you may enjoy a glass of wine or take out food from a local cafe. They also have an outdoor patio with a table and chairs to enjoy the sunset and beautiful backyard. They also have black out curtains for a late wake-up !
We had the breakfast they offer for 13 euro that includes eggs, sausage, pastries, crepes, caramel sauce, a variety of cheeses, fresh fruit juices, coffee and several other items. It was delicious!
The staff were responsive to my emails prior to arrival and even suggested Bessin Domaine for a car rental and pick up / drop off at the train station.
The Domaine de Bayeux is s very short walk to the train station and we were able to wait for our train and enjoy a beer they sell which was many hours after our check out time.
Lisa was especially kind and helpful with suggestions for where to eat locally which is also a short walk from the hotel .
Bayeux is a wonderful place to visit and 25- 45 minutes from Omaha, Utah beaches and the Arronmanche 360 cinema.
I’m definitely coming back to this charming hotel.

A classic French mansion with very elegant, comfortably furnished bedrooms. Spacious, modern bathrooms with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. An extensive breakfast buffet with fresh pastries, unlimited coffee and tea and a wide range of yoghurts and cakes, as well as cooked options. There is a pleasent guest sitting room with coffee and tea available and although there is no bar, guests can purchase wine, beer or soft drinks until reception closes (930pm). The hotel's garden is large and beautiful, and the bedrooms and public rooms look out over it. Domaine de Bayeux is in a very peaceful location, but is only a very short walk from all the key sights in the city (Tapestry, museums and shops) as well as the railway station which has services to Caen, Rennes and Cherbourg. The hotel staff are very friendly and efficient, responding quickly to emails before arrival as well as to any queries at the property - they speak very good English.

Warm welcome at this lovely hotel. Rooms were spotless and the bedroom and bathroom were large and well appointed with beautiful view over the delightful rear gardens. Breakfast was excellent. There is plenty of parking space and a couple of minutes walk into the centre of the town.

We stayed at Domaine De Bayeux for 3 nights on a trip through France. We stayed in the main manor in the Utah room. Let me just start by saying, from the moment we got there and was checked in by the beautiful young lady that works in the evenings, we literally felt at home. She was so helpful with suggestions on restaurants in the area and just general conversation. We also got to speak with the owner one of our mornings. She was very nice and genuinely interested in our visit to the area. The breakfast was one of my favorites from our 3 week trip. It had a wide variety of both hot and cold foods with plenty of pastries for your sweet tooth and all of it was delicious. We never saw the extension where the orchard rooms were but can only imagine that they were just as nice and immaculate as ours was. I can’t say enough on how much I enjoyed our stay. This is a must stay place. You will feel transported in time in the main house. It is exactly what I love.

My husband and I loved this hotel. The Domaine attic room was absolutely our favorite room on our 3 week trip where we stayed at 6 different hotels so we had a fair amount of places to compare this one too. We loved the location as we could easily walk our bags there 5 min from the train and could walk to the major sites of Bayeux effortlessly. The receptionists that we encountered were very sweet and helped us call a taxi a few times. We didn't mind that there was no elevator because we understand that's a challenging feature to put in to such an old building. The breakfast we had here was delicious too and the grounds are beautiful. We rented a car and it was nice that parking came free. Our room had a nice view of the back garden and was so spacious with the full sized bed, a small sitting area, and the other half of the room was a huge bathroom with a tub, double-sinks, and separate waterfall shower. Luckily we are short people so the slanted beams in the room caused us no issue as it would for someone closer to 6ft tall. Overall we had no complaints with anything at this hotel and would love to come back again one day.

This is a wonderful place to stay...my only regret is that we had only booked one night. The Domaine de Bayeux is a wonderful 18th century building which has been stunningly renovated to reflect a remarkably clean, crisp and modern interior. We stayed in the attic room which was really impressive. The bathroom featured a large stand alone tub, a rain shower and a huge double sink counter top. I will venture a guess that it was almost as large as the bedroom. The location is great with ample on-site parking and the staff are warm and inviting. Thank you.

Beautiful architect designed rooms overlooking the orchard. Balcony with outside seating. Attention to detail wonderful - everything from crisp white bedsheets, fluffy towels in modern bathroom and mini fridge to chill water - and water glasses provided.
Coffee served free of charge in the main building.
Fabulous experience from start to finish and excellent location 5 minute walk from the tapestry and cathedral too.
