#1 hotel in Toulouse in my opinion!
We spent 6 nights at La Cour des Consuls at the end of December and we were so glad we chose this hotel for our trip to Toulouse. Check-in was fast and to my surprise we were upgraded to a Deluxe Room. We were given a tour of the hotel by Sebu (sorry if I misspelled the name) who also took our luggage to our room and also gave us great recommendations on things to do. We stayed in room 144 which is a corner room located in the forth floor. It was very big, extremely quiet, very comfortable bed, and very clean. The only thing is the floor gets very wet while showering and may become slippery. I’d also suggest to the hotel management to have better lighting in the bathroom for us ladies who need it when applying makeup. We had breakfast every day at the hotel and it was excellent with a big variety. We suggest not going too late for breakfast as they start putting the foods away closer to breakfast end time. Special thanks to Cecilia who went above and beyond finding us a car rental place when our trains were cancelled to Albi due to the strike. We had lunch and brunch on two of the days we were there at their Michelin Star restaurant Le Cenacle which will be a separate review and went to the bar a couple of times as well. The hotel is approximately a 20 minutes ride from and to the airport by taxi and is also within walking distance of great restaurants and the major tourist attractions. What made this stay so great was the excellent service we received from everyone. I would definitely stay there again if I’m back to Toulouse and I recommend La Cour des Consuls without hesitation.

The hotel has a small spa but good for charging energy after a nice day around Toulouse. The restaurant is ok. The hotel and staff were decent. In fact the two guys running the bar were great. However the hard product needs some attention. It was not possible to use the shower without flooding the bathroom floor which meant the towels were needed to catch the water leaving them soaking. The in-room phones didn’t work which meant I had to go down to the front desk to request an iron and ironing board. They arrived promptly. However we then discovered the base of the iron (not the hot plate the part it stands on) was cracked and so the water leaked everywhere. On check-out the person at the front desk was busy on the phone taking the details of a reservation while there were two people is the back office sat doing very little. The front desk person apologised for the wait. Everything described shouldn’t happen at a hotel like this. However these issues aside we had a relatively good stay. The hotel is in a good location and the guest interfacing staff make up for the shortcomings of the hotel. Would I stay here again, I’m not sure.

Nice hotel in a mansion very well located with a lot of charm; feeling like in a house. Good level of service. Breakfast of good quality. One star Michelin restaurant. Only drawback is the shower which is not well protected by windows.

We had a mixed experience with our 2 night stay at this Accor property. We’re greatly impacted by initial impressions and that’s why the reception staff are so important as they set the tone for the property. We arrived after driving 2.5 hours from the country and were greeted with indifference and what felt almost as being intruders. The ‘open suitcase’ that the receptionist sits behind is perhaps one of the most uninviting ‘desk’s we’ve ever experienced and we would encourage the hotel with abandoning it post haste. We were ushered off to our room, one of the best in the hotel, fortunately escorted by another staff member who had greater warmth and kindness. We had booked a 3-room ‘suite’ with terrace and it was lovely. The terrace was perhaps too dark but the living area was a good size and we made good use of it. We received a welcome note from the General Manager, which was on the bed when we arrived. It welcomed us and congratulated my wife on her birthday as we were there to celebrate it. The note mentioned some special chocolates as a gift. Unfortunately, there were no chocolates. On going out for the night, we gave the note to the receptionist, who appeared stumped by it and was unsure how to respond. A prompt apology and I’ll get it fixed ASAP were likely appropriate under the circumstances but nothing came. When we returned to our room that night, still no ‘special chocolates’. Oh well, not to worry. We did receive turn down service, which I wasn’t expecting, and there were 2 small 3-packs of chocolate-coated almonds by our beds. Interestingly, there was no turn down service on the second night. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast both days as it came with our room. A good selection of options were available. Once again, service was a little mixed. On checking out we were delighted to meet a young lady on reception who had a wonderful manner, good humour and a tremendous northern-English accent to her French one. I so wish we had met this lady on our arrival as it probably would have changed our overall experience. In addition, we had a great car waiting to transfer us to the airport which we very much appreciated, having expected a taxi when we requested it the night before. Overall, mixed experience. I expect the hotel may be struggling with staffing like all service industries at present and perhaps we simply encountered inexperienced staff.

We are currently staying at room 124 The room is worn out and not orderly cleaned. Dirty corners, hair on the floor etc. See pics. We mentioned right away. The only reaction at the front desk (16:15) was that today they are fully booked and that they may be able to move us to another room tomorrow. Is that appropriate for a 5 star hotel?

The location is very great and the crew really friendly and helpful. The Hotel seams on a first glimps very nice but should be maintained better. At the bar, the seats are damaged. In the room the carped had a lot of colour damages. The shower was not very well repaired and after showering, the floor was wet.

The staff is exceptionally nice and helpful (and they always picked up the phone), but the concept is not customer friendly. For example, you do not get the WiFi password on paper (or wherever), but there is a long way to detect it. You have to find in your room a QR code. Then you need another source of the Internet to open the QR code. There you can search for the code for the Internet! Highly inconvenient! Switching on/off one selected lamp is not possible, because there is one switch for almost all lights in the room (inconvenient).  No night light in the bathroom, which I think can be expected in a 5* hotel.  The minibar has a very limited choice. No snacks except nuts in chocolate. No wine. No price list (maybe if you go through the QR code procedure again you could find it). There was a Nespresso coffee maker and a kettle in the room, which was nice. Two big bottles of water - complimentary. The room had windows facing the inside of the hotel backyard. This had live music which was unbearably loud. With closed windows impossible to work and with opened windows an audio strength that I could imagine in a rock concert! The bed - comfortable.  Furniture - very minimalistic. Electrical outlets - inconvenient and very limited number. One needs to crawl under the table to use the electrical outlets. No USB outlets. Breakfast was OK.  I was very surprised that staying in the room until 3 PM would cost almost 400 Euro! Location is good.
