Convenience to the train station was a plus for me as I had two early morning day trips during my stay. Rooms are clean but basic with little natural light but then it avoided street noise. I found the coming and going of other guests to the lift a little disturbing. Not surprisingly the area is a little seedy at night being near the main railway with a number of homeless drinking/sleeping in buildings nearby. It made it a little uncomfortable coming back from the tourist end of town which is a good fifteen minute walk. Very helpful and friendly woman at reception during the day but not as accommodating night manager. Not great value for money but it was the end of the tourist season so it served its purpose.
Stayed with friends for three nights in September. The hotel is well located, within walking distance of the major attractions and centre of the city. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are well equipped and very clean. We enjoyed our stay and would recommennd as a good reasonably priced hotel.
I had been looking for a more "upscale" hotel but they were full. The Hotel de Bordeaux was good, I stayed three nights. The room was basic but clean and functional, the front desk staff were multilingual and very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for the train station, is right beside the canal (for peaceful walks in an urban setting) and also reasonably close to shops and sites in the "old city". I was quite happily surprised, given the modest price.
Stayed here for 3 nights after having been let down with original hotel booking. Booked late in the afternoon with relief. A basic room, perfectly good for one person. Shower room obviously recently refitted and tiled - very clean with efficient spacious shower. Comfortable bed. Bedding was changed after 2 days - unexpected in a 2-star. Electrics a little dubious. Sockets are under the desk, close to the underside of the desk so needed to sit on the floor to use them. Some tracking coming up from the desk had what appeared to be live wires coming from it - i didn't investigate closely! Wifi worked well - but TV not at all. Not a problem, didn't want to watch it anyway. Need to wait to be let in to the hotel each time but this is understandable because of the location. Area around the hotel is a little seedy but I never felt unsafe. There's a lot of work being done on the main street down to the centre of Toulouse with lots of trip hazards on the pavements. This hotel is probably not the best for families - unless the location close to the station is important. Airport shuttle bus runs from the side of the station every 20 mins and costs only 8 euros, takes about 35 mins. I would have preferred to be closer to the centre but at short notice and over a holiday weekend I felt lucky to get this room.…
This hotel is ok for a quick stop. The rooms are very small and old with old facilities. Being along the river and opposite the train station makes for a great location except that it's also in the seedy adult entertainment area (this place is definitely not recommended for families). Good thing is the windows are double glazed which keeps all the noise out and the staff are nice (just remember to brush up on your French)
