Not just comfortable and central for exploring the area, this place has a special ambiance, generous hosts and amazing food. I was traveling solo and looking for a place to base myself that provided meals. I really lucked in when I booked La Maison, Christian and Nico are both wonderful cooks and put their hearts and souls into the place....

An absolute gem! Nico and his wife are fantastic hosts. We didn't stay over but we did dine with the resident guests. The food was excellent, the ambience superb. The dining table is set in a covered area, almost "baronial" with a big long table, bedecked in crystal glass, beautiful table settings, chandeliers, candles and a big log burner! Nico...

After much research about where to go in the southwest of France, we focused on Cordes-sur-Ciel, and especially we were attracted to La Maison au Puits (the house at the well). We do not often stay at bed-and-breakfast establishments because of my wife’s disability, and the fact that we rarely eat anything more than fresh fruit for breakfast. Christianne and...

My wife and myself stayed in corde and were recommended this place by several people. It was s beautiful setting and the menu was no choice you got what you're given, everybody say around same table different nationalities which was a great ice breaker. Nico the chef and his wife were fantastic hosts. Our starter was duck on a pine...

This is a charming small hotel just outside of Cordes which is very tastefully appointed. The food is first outstanding and everything that you hope for in France. I would recommend to book in advance to ensure you will be catered for. What made us uncomfortable was the female proprietor. In all my years of travel, I have never come...

We have been to many places in the world and find it fun to stay in separate, nice , cozy places. This was again successful this time. La Maison au Puits has cozy , extremely clean rooms. The breakfast ( included) is delicious with homemade apricot jam , among others . There is also the option to dine in the...

Stayed here for four nights whilst visiting friends and exploring local towns and villages. A very nicely restored traditional village house with excellent service from Nico and Christianne who are both multilingual. We stayed in room 5 which was most comfortable. There was a small amount of traffic noise in the early morning but this was only village traffic and...

Christianne and Nico, the owners, were entertaining and warm, and Nico is a talented, professional chef. The breakfast alone (exquisite omelette, OJ, coffee, croissants, and a selection of inimitable French bread, meats, and cheese) was worth the price of admission and inclusive in price. Modern and spacious room and bathroom, quality wifi, and a quaint, almost medieval back patio for...

We spent a very pleasant evening dining outside on a covered terrace. Nico and Christianne were friendly and gave us all a warm welcome. We all enjoyed our four course meal.which was excellent value for money. All the courses were well cooked and presented with seconds available. I particularly enjoyed the tarte tatin with mascarpone cream.

We had a wonderful winter stay at la Maison au Puits. The owners are wonderful; very accommodating, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. They helped us to plan much or our daily activities in the region and provided excellent advice on dining and when shops/restaurants open and close. The property is spacious and inviting and there is also free parking in a...
