Firstly, this cannot be called a hotel, it is a vineyard with a few rooms as an after thought. Our room was very small, windowless with doors opening onto the garden. The views were spectacular (which is why it received 2 stars, otherwise it would be none ) but we had no privacy

Response from petersoleilla, Propriétaire at Mas du Soleilla

Dear Madame. I'm sorry, that your stay has not left agreeable memories. We shall do our best, to improve our offer and service and exclude any kind of negligence. This summer is extremely hot and dry. This to explain that the garden to which the rooms open, needs to be irrigated. We consider night time more convenient for our guests than sprinkling during daytime. The heat is also not ideal to present large quantities of cheese or e.g. fruit. If it is gone it is replaced or added when our guests ask for an other helping. Our breakfast includes amongst other, on a daily basis, either yoghourt or excellent fromage blanc. If guests have a particular diet, we adapt the offer, if informed accordingly. We agree, that a large pool is different from a small pool or none. All our rooms have windows or large french doors, that were designed to the same effect as windows. Mas du Soleilla is in a Natural Reserve. The road leading to the estate is indeed not as smooth as a highway. The law forbids paving. However we can assure, that never a car had suffered any damage from this unpaved road. Indeed, our estate is dedicated to making wine and hosting guests in our B&B. In no way we pretend running a hotel. However we consider this unique location should be shared with people who are sensitive to the charm of natural landscape and some type of rare wilderness.

We had been holidaying on the Canal du Midi : old fashioned barge so not quite so relaxing. we arrived for a 2 night stop at Mas du Soleilla and were not disappointed. The rooms were more than adequate but the views were stunning. Rebekah was a delight and I could easily have

We had a spacious room but the bath room was really dated. The breakfast was fine and the lady was very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool and area were great and you have a fantastic view from there. Still I think it's a little too expensive for what they offer.

A beautiful setting in a totally underrated area of France. Narbonne is French country charm with the friendliest staff trying to accommodate your every need. Be sure to do a tasting with Peter. It is absolutely worth the time. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

There are taxis, or transportation can be organized. There is a very nice restaurant in 5 minutes walking distance. Having a (rental) car however enables to do nice and interesting excursions beyond the nice hikes that can be made from the estate.

"Don't have our room!"
"Our room opened to the garden and had more morning sun. Others have better evening sun. Ask if interested. If required, there are rooms that can be connected with a shared door for groups or families traveling together."
"ask for a room with as much light/size as possible. another guest also expressed her concern at the small size of their room."
"The "sanglier" is one of the bigger rooms and has access to an own terrace."
