This hotel is located near the main entrance of the city, a good hotel, a good service an excellent experience. The rooms, the food, the place. A must! Carcassone is a gem of Europe, one of the most amazing medieval city's

Stayed here off the cuff with family - booked us in at short notice with no fuss Rooms clean but small Good location to walk to the cite as long as you can make it up a short uphill section Didn't eat as we went to the cite to watch Jazz in the square while having dinner (nice..) Came down... More

I don't normally write my reviews whilst still at the hotel - but I need to tell reviewers how impressed I am with this hotel. Having stayed in the Medieval city before we chose this hotel for its car parking facilities as we had friends visiting us for the Bastille Day fireworks when parking is a nightmare. The hotel is... The location is the saving grace of this Mercure Hotel. There is absolutely no way it is a 4*! Admittedly we did arrive on the day before Le Tour entourage, but that did not excuse the complete lack of interest from the staff on reception. Our room, when we finally were given access was tiny and poorly laid out. As... More

The hotel itself is fine - rooms are large and parts of the hotel very well laid out with a great courtyard and nice outdoor pool. The stay was spoilt somewhat due to travel strikes and the hotel reception staffs unwillingness to help. As it was the beginning of Euro 2016 and there were more people around than would be... More

booked 3 nights in a premier room as other reviewers had commented that standard rooms quite small. our room was modern and good size. it looked recently renovated, modern, clean bathroom, pillow menu, large quite comfortable bed. only downside was the room was stifling, as although we enquired at reception if they could check the air con, but it didnt... This hotel is in a perfect location - just a couple of minutes walk from the main entrance gate to the medieval city of Carcassonne - and yet is peaceful at night for a good night's sleep. It has a good restaurant with a la carte and menu of the day, and the breakfast is also very good and varied.... More

Well located hotel for the old City with free outdoor secured parking. Nice outdoor pool and efficient check in and out. Some of the rooms are a fair distance from reception and the corridors are a bit dark and long, like in The Shining. These rooms have a pool veranda though so possibly worth it. Veranda is shared so careful... More

It is overrated and not really at the door to the City, Requires a 10 minutes walk to get to the Carcassonne Castle. Unfriendly front desk staff and the restaurant is poorly staffed requiring lots of patience to be served. The room was small and the view from the window is just a tree obscuring the view of the castle.... More

We spent 3 nights at this hotel and no way is this a 4 star hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean and maintained throughout. Holiday storage space was minimal so we had to live out of the suitcases and there was no fridge. A kettle was provided. The bed was not comfortable. Breakfast was good but the staff in reception...
