Beautiful hotel. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Rooms large, quite, and comfortable. Lovely breakfast, with fresh fruits, cheese, cold cuts, and fresh pastries and bread. Would love to stay here again. Only problem is finding the offsite parking, as the address does not register on driving apps or GPS.

What a wonderful hotel! The staff were excellent and went over and above to make sure our stay was perfect. Special thanks to Loreena who was so pleasant and friendly! Our room was absolutely beautiful with a large terrace looking over the gardens and castle walls. The breakfast was excellent with a large selection of lovely fresh food. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Absolutely brilliant! My wife and I had 2 nights in the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had a terraced room overlooking the city walls and outside restaurant area. We ate in the restaurant in the last night and I can highly recommended the ‘Signature’ menu but we also asked for the paired wines as well. Absolutely wonderful- expensive yes but worth every penny! I would definitely stop here again if we return to Carcassonne.

We live in Brazil and came to spend our holidays in France. I added Carcassonne in our travel plan since I’d been here 30 years ago and wanted my partner to enjoy it as much as I did. Back then, I thought to myself “when I’m back, I’ll stay at the Hotel de la Cité & Spa MGallery”, since I found it to be the most beautiful in the city. Now it was the time to fulfill that dream. So several months ago I made a reservation at the Hotel de la Cité & Spa MGallery in Carcassonne through Booking.com. Some time later I learned that this hotel was part of the Accor network of which I have been a member for several years. 24 hours after my arrival in France and a day before my check in at this hotel, I received a call from them informing me that they could not accommodate us due to electrical problems in some rooms, but could provide a room in another lower category hotel in the Accor network. Later the electrical problems turned into a leak problem… However, when we arrived at the hotel de la Cité to cancel the reservation and be taken to the Mercure, we could see that the hotel was full of guests. We were extremely upset because in addition to being warned at the last minute, we could not choose another hotel of our choice as we were staying for a weekend and almost all the hotels had no more rooms available. We couldn't leave the city because my nephew came to spend the weekend with us and was going back to London on Sunday night. Even if they had problems with some rooms, a problem that they couldn't solve within 24 hours, they had to have honored my reservation made so long in advance and given it preference over the most recent reservations or even with higher rates and paid directly to the hotel without intermediaries such as booking.com. I find this unacceptable because we are very experienced tourists who came from far away and our personal circumstances were taken into account. There are no excuses for this type of attitude, it’s lack of professionalism. They offered to spend our last night at the Hotel and once again it was clear that after the preferred guests had left - on a Sunday obviously - they could return our room to us, but unfortunately they had already spoiled our weekend.

Fantastic place to stay to enjoy Carcassonne. Service is excellent with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is a very good buffet and you can sit overlooking the walls. We also ate in the hotel restaurant one night which was good. Our room was very comfortable with a large terrace overlooking the walls and valley below. This is an expensive place but worth the money in my view. The car parking arrangement is particularly good with access to a private car park and staff with cars to carry you and your luggage straight to the hotel.

We stayed here for2 nights for my wife's 50th birthday celebration. The location within the walled city is incredible (the outside terrace for breakfast, bar, dinner is out-of-this-world-magical). The hotel is beautiful and the attention from staff is 2nd to none. It's the location that makes it so so unique and this is an extraordinary way to enjoy Carcassonne...

We visited Carcassonne for a long weekend and decided to book in to Hotel de la Cite Carcassonne-MGallery as it was inside the Cite walls and looked very old and charming. We were not disappointed. We were allocated room 207 which sits directly over the front entrance of the hotel. We had a fabulous view of the Basilica and the streets directly outside the hotel. All the windows opened fully which made it a great place to people watch first thing in the morning. The room itself was a decent size. It had a separate bathroom with a bath and over the top shower which was stocked with Clarins toiletries and also a separate toilet. The bed was huge and very comfortable as were the pillows. There was a mini bar fridge which was replenished each day with water. The hotel is obviously very old. We had a smooth check in and the receptionist gave us a brief tour of the hotel and its history. In the hotel grounds, there is a lovely swimming pool, outside bar, outside seating and a great view of the ramparts and Cite walls. We only ate breakfast at the hotel once during our stay. It was a nice mix of hot and cold buffet and plenty to choose from. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a slight mix up on departure as we had asked reception to book us a taxi to take us to the airport. We were advised that as the airport is small, you only need to be there an hour before departure and to also allow 30 minutes to get to the airport and we were told a driver would collect us and drive us to the hotel car park where the taxi would collect us. It appeared the driver had not been told to come and collect us so we were late getting to the hotel car park. But, the taxi was also late arriving. This didn't seem to cause to much of a problem though as we still arrived at the airport 1 hour before departure and getting through the airport was very quick. All in all, a great stay and one of the most amazing places I've ever visited and I'd certainly recommend staying here!

We stayed here one night and were able to book last minute. We did not enjoy the restaurant because it was sold out but the ambiance looked very enjoyable. The room had a king bed that was very very comfortable. The street noise did not carry in the room so we were able to get a restful sleep. There bathroom was large and well equipped. We were able to easily walk the fort/castle and town within an hour. The parking is about 5 minute drive offsite at the base so make sure to input the parking directions first if you are driving and call when you arrive to be transported to the check in. The hotel staff was very helpful and nice happy to interact and help guests. There is an small elevator to get luggage to room but beware that you may need help getting it across stairs as the room floorplans are dispersed.

Fabulous hotel located with its old city walls. It was a great place to retreat to after exploring la Cite. The hotel staff assisted pre arrival with taxis and made us feel very welcome on arrival. Fabulous gardens inside the walls, great surroundings to enjoy all our meals at the hotel. Great view of the castle and the walls from the garden!
