It is in the heart of the medieval city, that CARRIERE family, professionals since 3 generations, as their collaborators cordially accomodate you in their charming hotel with restaurant at Aigues-Mortes in the Camargue, the pilot city of the departures of the king Louis IX (known as Saint-Louis) for the seventh and eighth crusade (1240 and 1270). Whatever the season, throughout the year, you will be welcome, finding there rooms comfortable, recently renovated, at reasonable prices, a restaurant which proposes many specialities and a personnel cordial and available under the direction of: Corinne et Eric CARRIERE. A situation privileged to discover and appreciate inside the ramparts, to 30 meters of Saint-Louis Place, while strolling in the picturesque lanes the shops with the Mediterranean scents, within a privileged framework. A hotel very of charm, the comfort of our rooms, a kitchen of savours, the beauty of the environment, the discovery of an area rich in activities, arts and monuments as well as a family atmosphere are, for all the in love ones with the old stones the insurance of a fabulous stay.

We were warmly welcomed. Eric speaks English, which is helpful. This hotel feels home-like. The entrance has a montage of family photos. The room was comfortable with a window that opens. They have a very good restaurant downstairs.

We only ate at the restaurant (rather than staying at the hotel) and were surprised that despite being in the touristy centre of Aigue-Mortes, the food was very good, the atmosphere great, the staff attentive and the overall experience excellent value. Despite the restaurant being pretty full, we felt we were really looked after and came away satisfied and wanting to return. overall - highly recommended.

Stopped for a quick lunch. The terrace in a quieter street parallel to the main street was quite full. We ordered salads for the adults and kid menu. The salads were OKish. Nothing outstanding at all. The chicken in the kid's menu was under cooked (pink). Service was slow and not smily. I would not recommend.

The day we arrived Chez Carriere was closed. Nobody answered the phone. The street was no accessible because of barrier. We waited 3 hours before someone arrived to open the place. Not management. We were given A code to get in. Hotel ,bar, restaurant empty we were the only couple in. It took ages to get our luggage from the car. We then found anyone not living in Aigues Morte cannot park in the walled city. Found a car park outside the walls- 29 Euros overnight. We ate next door, good food and pleasant owner. Same person who gave us the code to get in Chez Carriere served us breakfast. The owner must be very trusting of his clientele or foolish with all the drinks that were on display.

This is a great little gem in the medieval town. It has zircon, easy and great access to a marvellous and understated part of French history. Free parking, decent break, very small rooms but more than adequate for a day or two. An easy drive from great beaches of the Med. Had a great nights sleep! Would stay here again,
