The property is very nice if you are staying in the main hotel. I booked my stay through American Express Fine Hotels and we were provided a “garden” view room in the second building. The elevator and atmosphere in the second building is no better than a 3 star hotel. Not worthy of $700/night. The bar food is outrageously priced. 24 euros for a mojito. 10 euros for one Coke Zero. With Amex we have a 4pm guaranteed late check out. Housekeeping ignored and came in anyway, even with our do not disturb sign. If your room is in the second building, we refer to it as the frat house - don’t expect much. The grandeur and beauty of the hotel does not follow to the second building. There was suppose to be a $25 welcome gift in our room, for American Express bookings, none was provided. When I called the front desk to ask, they disconnected my call and additional calls to the front desk were unanswered. We just left the Waldorf Astoria Rome Cavalieri the night prior, and this property cannot hold a candle to that one with service or quality. The only positive we encountered was Eric in the breakfast dining room. He had exceptional service and was kind.

Hotel's Favorite
We had a very nice experience in this hotel. We stayed for 2 nights to be able to explore Versailles Palace and Gardens thoroughly. And the location of the hotel can't be beat for that! The Neptune Gate is located practically around the corner. We booked priority tickets for the fireworks show (which was kind of waste in a way, didn't provide any value really - regular tickets would do just fine). But we were able to use Neptune gate to come in, and that was really great. The hotel is one beautiful property with a nice landscaping around. We booked a room with a garden view in the Palace building, and honestly I don't regret booking it - though it was significantly more expensive than the Garden Pavilion rooms. We were kind of upgraded (we are both Hilton Diamonds) to a corner room. It was basically the same room we booked. But it had two balconies! We really liked that. We didn't use air conditioning at all, as we were able to open one or both balconies. The room was very nice and somewhat spacious - especially for European standards. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. The bathroom was also nice and spacious, and even had a balcony. It also had a separate toilet room. We got complimentary breakfast as Diamonds (I love to stay in Hilton's in Europe, that's where you really get a value from the Diamond breakfast!). The breakfast was great, with plenty of options, very fresh and tasty. We also had a dinner in La Veranda restaurant. And it was delicious. I see where people can complain about the service, as there were a lot of very young people working in the restaurant for dinner, and they didn't seem to be extremely experienced. But we are not concentrated on stuff like this, we didn't mind, and were happy that the restaurant was open even in spite of still COVID, and people were working for us! We had an issue with the hotel bill. Somehow somebody else's dinner and bar tap got charged to our room - so I was happy I always check the bills at check out. We didn't noticed the bar tap right away, so it didn't get removed properly. But the dinner was, and the stuff was apologetic about this event, they gave us complimentary parking - so we kind of broke even, as the parking is 29 euros a night. So overall it was a great and romantic stay! If we would come to Versailles again - I would splurge for this hotel again, it was totally worth it for us.

The hotel manages two categories in one: 5* and 4*. You need to considered that you should pay a little more and stay in the 5* one, since although the room savings are a couple of hundred euros, the prices in Hotel restaurants and services are 5* expensive. It doesn't make sense to stay in the cheap area if you pay everything else as if you were in the high cost area. The hotel should be more clear about this when booking. its main restaurant is bad if not lousy; they refused to give us a better table arguing that they were full when it was 50% and there were 30 minutes left to close. and since there are only two tables for two people and in a terrible location in the entire restaurant and they did not agree to give us one for 4 people. slow service and bad and expensive food. The terrace is very good in general, but they are only drinks and snacks. The Michelin star restaurant costs €190 and up per person. Practically twice as many as the other 8 Michelin restaurants that I visit on this trip. Yes, I would go back but to the 5* and I would only eat on the terrace, everything else outside the Hotel. Check in only has two people, slow but very friendly, as well as bellboys and vallet parking.

Amazing place! The historic Trianon is simply a feast for the senses! Book a park view room, enjoy magical sunsets over the park and spectacular sunrises over The Golden Chateau! The food and service in the Veranda is our favorite but both the terrace bar and Gordon Ramsay's are excellent!

We had a beautiful stay at the hotel but upon check out, i was shocked that i am charges about 32 Euros for a 5 minute call on the hotel phone. This was never mentioned during check in. We tried to email the hotel for the details on how this amount is charged due to a phone call but to date there’s no response

Dear Saphi08, We are delighted to have welcomed you during your recent stay and would like to thank you for the fantastic 4* rating. We are very sorry to hear about the €32 charge on your bill, as we offer our guests the use of in-room telephones for calls outside our establishment for a certain flat rate. We place the rates next to each of our telephones so that all our customers are informed, which was obviously not the case for you. Once again, we would like to thank you for your feedback, which helps us to improve our services, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again soon. Kind regards, Waldorf Astoria Versailles - Trianon Palace

Customer service was inferior compared to other Waldorf properties. From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff gave us incorrect information about early check in. We certainly did not expect it, however after overseas travel it would have been extremely helpful. We were told they were unable to change our room selection because we had checked in on the app. When check in time came and our room was still not ready, they changed our room after we insisted we had already waited 5 hours. In addition, breakfast was oversold and served in the lobby of the hotel and hardly what you would expect from a “5” star property. I do not recommend this property.

We visited the Waldorf-Astoria initially because of its proximity to Versailles, but the quality of accommodations was also on our mind. As diamond hilton honors members, we received an upgrade to a nicer suite (which was great). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly throughout our three night stay. During our stay we enjoyed both the Veranda and Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants during our stay. Gordon Ramsay was of course, an incredible dining experience. The Veranda was good both at dinner and breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our king suite park view room on the 4th floor. The staff met our every request with professionalism. This location lives up to the Waldorf Astoria brand.

The ambience of the hotel is like The the Palace de Versailles. The surrounding parks makes for great walks. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was very accommodating. It’s the best location in Versailles. Walking distance to the old town and to the market. We enjoy walking every evening along the Jardin de Versailles which is adjacent to Waldorf Astoria Versailles.

Only stayed here for two nights so we could go to Versailles which is right on the doorstep and it was brilliant. Beautiful looking hotel with lovely entrance and long atrium with a black and white tiled floor which echoes the Hall of Mirrors. We had a Palace garden view corner suite which was huge and lovely (room 202) Great coffee machine, and of the most enormous and comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Service was fantastic and the food was incredible. We ate in La Veranda one night and then had a sensational 7-course feast in the Gordon Ramsey restaurant the next. Truly superb. Lovely bar, great cocktails and friendly staff. Just so you know, you can use a hotel car to take you to and from the airport but cheaper to cab it going and Uber it back. Uber were vert good in case you have any reservations. If you want an experience to match Versailles, this is the only place to stay I’d say.
