The journey back to the Renaissance starts in the lift. The glass panel is a window through which you can admire a series of drawings taken from the various studies executed by Leonardo da Vinci. The hotel's 24 rooms are named after the leading figures of the Quattrocento. These include Botticelli, Raffaello, Michelangelo and Catherine de' Medici. The invitingly comfortable rooms are decorated in a style that takes in a great many references, such as a highly typical caqueteuse chair, or a dressing room with curved features, reminiscent of the wardrobes of the period. Almost half the rooms have balconies. Some look out over the hotel patio, a haven of peace and quiet, while others, overlooking the Rue des Saints-Peres, afford a glimpse of the Louvre nearby!

Neighborhood
Saint-Germain-des-Prés
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

It does not, but there are several wonderful cafes nearby that open early and serve great coffee and croissants.

This is a small, very old building and I would never recommend it for anyone using equipment larger than a cane. The lobby is so small that when two guests are sitting at the desk to check in, anyone else moving through the lobby needs to squeeze by. The elevator and elevator landings are very tiny (4 person max), so maneuvering most scooters will be a challenge. Fitting the scooter in the room and still being able to move around the room is also unlikely. Doorway sizes may not be adequate, particularly the bathroom door. Breakfast room access would also be limited.
