The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
This was my second time staying at the hotel. We again had a pleasant and comfortable stay. The price for the value you get is on point. The location is good and the staff are helpful. I'd recommend to anyone visiting Paris.
Every now and then circumstances dictate the style of accommodation you require. We were on our way back to Paris from Reims in France and heading off early the next day on Eurostar to London. We wanted an inexpensive but comfortable property a walk away from Gare du Nord. 9Hotel Opera fitted the bill – it was less than a 15 minute walk to the station, offered free WiFi and was in our price bracket. We arrived around 6pm, check-in to room 101 was quick and simple – the rather ordinary looking reception area does offer free coffee making facilities. The lift was modern and we were soon opening the door to a small room – not a lot of spare space after two suitcases are opened on the floor. All the basics were there – power plugs on both sides of the king bed (very comfortable by the way) a flat TV but no USB plugs. Lighting was excellent along with the shower – plenty of consistently hot water and big, thick towels. Free WiFi worked a treat – so we were quite happy. Street noise is a slight problem but no big deal. We walked to the station the next morning after a good night’s rest.
My boyfriend and I loved our stay at this hotel! The staff at 9Hotel were very nice and accommodating from the start, and they even upgraded us to a better bedroom at our arrival! The room was small (which is typical of Paris) but very modern, so we felt very comfortable and at ease in our room. We even had a balcony with a great view and some chairs to sit out, which was a nice surprise! The location is also perfect, very close to a metro station and many cafes and restaurants, and only a 15 minute walk to the Galeries Lafayette and a 20 minute metro to the city center. This was nice because we got to enjoy staying in a quieter area but were still very close to all the hustle/bustle of city life. Overall I would give this hotel 5 stars and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Paris.
Very clean and nice rooms. Close to gare du nord and very friendly service. Also the free coffee and tea is an extra and good service. In the area there are also nice restaurants so good and central spot! Till next time
