Lovely little hotel, and very good value for Paris. Rooms are little and hard mattress, but more than made up for very friendly reception, lovely breakfast and great location (Montparnasse is just lovely, right by the metro and Jardins de Luxembourg are on the doorstep). Very much recommended.

This hotel was cozy and clean on a main street on the Left Bank. South of Luxembourg Gardens, it is just across the street from the Metro. Very convenient. We also made good connections to the train RER going to Versailles easily. As mentioned by others, the front desk staff was the best with directions and suggestions. If you need...

I've just returned from a 5 night stay at the Hotel de la Paix and I can't say enough about the wonderful time I had the there. The front desk staff, especially Matthew, was most helpful and kind. The room size was good and the bathroom while small, had great water pressure in the shower. The windows open and there...

We spent five days in Montparnasse and spent a nice stay at the Hotel de La Paix. The hotel managers were very helpful and polite. Here are the pros and cons of our stay: Pros: Clean and quiet Petite Dejeuner (breakfast) available every day for a few euros. Free Wifi Close to a restaurants and a few stores The Metrostation...

I booked this hotel on the strength of its good TripAdvisor reviews, its location and price. I was not disappointed. It is situated within 100 metres of Raspail métro station on line 4. This meant that we could get there from Gare du Nord without changing. Boulevard du Montparnasse, with its many restaurants, is just up the road and the...

When we arrived in Paris (3rd time there) at Gare du Nord we just needed to take the number 4 metro line directly to Raspail (20 mins). The hotel is located 100 meters from this station. When we then came to the hotel, everyone is very friendly and will help you with any questions you might have. You also get...

Definitely made the right choice with the Hotel De La Paix. Main bedroom and bathroom were both very clean. Shuttered blinds block out any traffic noise so you can get a good nights sleep. Did get slightly warm at times however this is easily solved by turning on the air conditioning which ran very quietly as well. Free WiFi seemed...

This visit was for our anniversary, and it was very memorable. The ease of public transportation and the amiable staff was a great combination. Morning petit de jeuner was the way to go when you are not sure what would unfold during the day - excellent coffee and basket of fresh breads - enough to sustain any traveler! Our room...

We stayed here for 5 nights while on our honeymoon in Paris and had a wonderful experience! We wouldn't stay anywhere else. It's a 5 minute walk to the Raspail metro, which was key after a long day of site seeing, when it was raining, and extremely easy to reach the CDG airport. There were plenty of patisseries, sandwicheries and...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
