Since I got an under-50 Euros price, it is actually a bargain for usually expensive Paris. Even for its usual price around 70 per night, it is relatively affordable. It is on a quiet street, but lies just outside the main road, there is a metro station "Voltaire" right around the corner on the main road. Just a couple blocks...

The staff is very friendly. The place is clean. We were looking for a low budget place to stay for 2 nights within walking distance to La Maison des Métallos. We thought have a place with "personallity" would be better than some sterile cookie cutter place. We'll it's got personality alright! right down to the throw rugs in the elevator...

I stayed there with a friend for four days. The couple running the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but there was all necessary utilities. And it gets cleaned daily. Towels are changed as well (daily). It is perfect for people visiting Paris and that only need a place to sleep.

Stayed here on way back to UK. Clean, comfortable, personal and interesting area. Yes small rooms but quiet and ours had lovely view. Such friendly hosts too. Breakfast ample and delicious. Recommend.

Unfortunately I only spent one night at this hotel but would have loved to have stayed longer. The hotel is full of character even slightly quirky but that helps to make it such a nice place to stay. My room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean as was the ensuite. Free wifi is available but the signal was intermittent in...

Very good location - near Place de la Bastille/rue de Lappe - excellent place for restaurants at night. Very good value for the price. I also enjoyed their continental breakfast: simple but reasonable price (8 euros). Staff is very kind. I would certainly come back.

Very welcoming, though not sure anybody speaks English. Bizarre decoration, like staying in your elderly aunty's house, but very clean. Small en-suite room, but comfortable enough, and very reasonable. My bath had been re-enameled in orange, which looked like D Trump had washed his fake tan off and not rinsed it out. Still, good strong shower, plenty of hot water....

A good, no frills hotel in a very nice and active neighborhood, full of commercial activity, bars and restaurants. It's 1 min walk from Voltaire metro station, so a very strategic starting point for Paris sightseeing. The staff is very prompt and available: didn't have to talk a lot, but they speak English. Note that entrance is open until 3...

A small, but cozy hotel… funny, colorful interior as if someone had bought all the stuff at flea markets around the World or brought it home from various cruises of the captain… and it looks great… finally a hotel with a specific taste… I felt "at home" :-)

Stayed in this small, cosy hotel for 4 nights. Location was good and although the metro station is very close I preferred walking to Louvre, Orsay, main gardens etc (takes ca 40-50 min). The Carrefour little shop is at the same street. On the right side of the river, I do not recommend to take a hotel more far away,...

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
