So this wasn't a terribly bad hotel. I wouldn't want to go back however. The staircase is so thin and winding you feel you will fall any second, despite being sure I paid for this online, they said I hadn't paid and needed to pay there (will double check this when get home). Our door was stuck so every time... More

Location: 10-minutes walk from Gare de Montparnasse. In the same building with Mistral Hotel. Quiet neighborhood on the second street from Montparnasse cemetery. Small side street without heavy traffic. Convenient when you need a hotel for an early train from Montparnasse and do not want to pay extra. Reception: Small reception. the lady at the reception desk did not speak... More

I have visited Paris and I had great time in this hotel. My room was located in first floor unfortunately first floor didn't have elevator. Receptions were very helpful and friendly. Price was reasonable. It is located in very well area near Metro(subway). Romms are small. I booked a room for 2 adults and my son , but room was... More

I needed a place for one night coming in from Rennes and leaving next day for the airport. It's within walking distance of Gare Montparnasse and also a 7 minute walk to Denfort Rocherou station for RER B straight to CDG. The room was typical Paris however the bed an pillows were not comfortable so I'm glad it was only... More

The room and elevator was very small but I was expecting it already. Things would have been ok till I end up comparing it to my Aunt's hotel which was Campanile which was way bigger room. They had 3 beds for the 2 of them. The hotel had 2 elevator, 1 for 8 people and 1 for 3. The price... More

Bathroom door was not possible to close. Shower door was hanging loose and got stuck and almost fell off when trying to close/open. We had ants in the room and the staff didn't even clean them away when I showed them. Bed was hard and uncomfortable.

Pros: Reception was friendly and even though we had a problem with our credit card, they kept the room for us in good faith. The room was clean, with nice complimentary herbal teas. We left our bags and went wandering in the morning after check-out. Upon return, housekeeping returned a couple of things we'd left in the room. Cons: We... More

Loved it - rooms small but comfy. Kettle provided with teas without milk e.g. Vervaine, chamomile much appreciated. Shower/bath spotless beds comfy and it was really quiet. The POS machine did not work with my cards so useful to pay cash. What made it for us was finding the Rubis cafe a short walk away where we had the BEST... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.

“Only sixteen rooms and if you look at the map rooms #104, 204, 304 and 404 are a little bigger, at the back, and have a tub/shower combo instead of a stand in shower.”

“The stairs are awful and the elevator is meant for one person+bag or 2 kids, or a coulpe who is comfortable with hugs in the elev. So i suggest u either take the 1st-2nd floor rooms or then on the very top (4th floor). My room on the south-west side and it was sunny, but there isnt much to be seen since there is a 9-storey building just across the hotel.”

“We were given a 4th floor room with windows opening on to a quiet side street. Reception gave us a quiet fan to keep the air moving on a stifling hot night. We slept happily and safely with the windows open.”
