Let's start with the positives. The location is great. The bar is peasant and the bartenders / wait staff quite friendly. Those are pretty much the only positives. Negatives: * check in very slow; waited 30 minutes to check in. Was then told that by room would be ready "soon". Three hours later, after I went to the check in desk for a third time, I got a room (at 5pm). * As stated elsewhere in the reviews, everything about the hotel is old and tired. Rooms, hallways, etc. all showing their age. * Gym is under-sized and (shocker) dated. The kettlebells are a new and welcome addition, but there is not much room to use them because the gym is so cramped. * Particularly frustrating for me, given that I was in Paris for work, was that the wifi was absolutely awful. I lost the connection to the wifi constantly. Even when maintaining the wifi connection, the wifi lost the connection to the internet. The download / upload speeds were incredibly slow. As I am writing this review from my hotel room, the internet has gone in and out several times. It is so bad that I went to different hotels in the area to try to get on their lobby wifi if I needed to do a Zoom call. I realize that it's going to be expensive and very time-consuming to upgrade this hotel (I'm assuming that Marriot intends to do so, or else they should really exit the premises because the quality of the hotel negatively impacts the Marriott / Westin brand), but it is NOT expensive to make sure that there is adequate internet access for your guests. This is 2022, not 1996. Setting aside any other consideration, I won't stay here again because of the terrible internet connectivity.

Hotel's Favorite
What an outstanding experience, 3 nights in a beautiful and classically maintained Paris hotel. I’m a Marriott Ambassador level, and I travel a LOT internationally, so it’s nice to be in luxury where every detail is covered. Room was spotless and expertly maintained. The staff we interacted with, from the front desk, bellmen, and others were exceptionally nice…we were here celebrating my wife’s 60th birthday and they even helped plan a couple of surprises, they couldn’t have been nicer! The night manager was exceptionally helpful, hunting down a taxi at 4am for us to get to the train station. And don’t overlook the coffee machine in the lobby, always open! Oh, one more thing…the macaroons they make in-house were the best we’ve ever had, far better than the ones from Laduree! We’d stay there again in a heartbeat when visiting Paris again.

Although in a great location, the Westin Vendome is in need of a complete overhaul. The entryway is cold and uninviting, the rooms are dark and outdated and the restaurant is dreary. Although the maintenance staff was painting hallways while we were there, it did little other than making the hallways smell. The staff seemed uninterested in our concerns about our rooms. The housekeeping staff on the first day seemed annoyed that we were taking our time leaving the room, they wanted to clean and wanted us out. I "upgraded" to the Westin Vendome, and was very disappointed with the quality of the property. No coffee in the rooms, paper cups in the bathrooms and some outlets not functioning. We couldn't close one of the shades because the pull bar was missing. The only way to et dinner was to sit in the bar and order. We tried to make a reservation, but were put on hold and never were helped. On a positive note, the French Onion Soup and the Fish and Chips were amazing! We have stayed at other Westin properties and always been pleased. Westin Vendome, Do Better.

By the time we got to the Westin, we’ve stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Versailles and the Autograph Collection Maison Rouge in Strasbourg, so it could be that we had high expectations for a “four star” location with a price tag to match but this hotel does not merit a visit until a change in leadership and repairs are made. I will preface to say that we are Mariott Titanium members (Hyatt globalist and Hilton Diamond) so spend a lot of time at hotels and this failed the mark in so many areas. Let’s start with the easy: breakfast. If at 98 percent occupancy, make sure the chef has food rolling so that breakfast stations aren’t sitting empty. First it’s the eggs (which fyi, just skip. Fake eggs) then it’s the bacon. It’s the constant waiting on food to be replenished so unable to enjoy a meal. Speaking of enjoying meals, check out the bar/restaurant for a nice meal without having to head out. Flavor and variety are a win! Despite being high occupancy, and conferences happening, there was never a wait for the elevator, but you can’t say that for the front desk. First check-in took almost an hour trying to locate a room. Then we get to the room and for an elite member, unacceptable but what made it worse, was the lack of heat. Called and spoke with Ekaterina who seemed more concerned about telling an elite member how suite upgrades work instead of dealing with the fact that the room was freezing. Her solution was to downgrade us to a queen room from a king but I should’ve been happy with the Eiffel Tower view while we froze. By now our bags came and even the men that came with them were concerned about us staying there -more than the manager who has never reached back out- so my husband being ingenious turned on the hot water in the bathroom to add humidity to the room to warm it up. I also “tried” calling housekeeping for more blankets but they NEVER ANSWER but the few times that the front desk did answer, they were able to send up more blankets for us. It was doable since most of the day we were out but our last day it was so unbearably cold in the room, front desk offered to send up a heater. Not only was the heating system broken, but as others mentioned, wallpaper stripping, and the room lacks basic functionality. Why would you not offer tea/coffee in rooms but rather have people, call a front desk that rarely answers to then wait for coffee/tea to be delivered!! The set up for the bathroom requires a big step up into a tub so FYI, any mobility issues will make it hard to get in. The tv offers no movie channels and no option for screen casting in 2022!! The one phrase that I kept repeating was that there is no way the same general manager who opened Conrad Bora Bora is the same one operating this hot mess of a Westin. Westin needs to remove its name or fix this hot mess of a hotel.

The staff at the hotel is very friendly and helpful, yet the property is INCREDIBLY dilapidated. Pealing paint, ripped wallpaper, carpet that is worn and stained, aging fixtures, worn furniture, pathetic lobby, no concierge, this is now just a WAY over priced property for it’s incredibly poor condition, especially since there are so many great hotels for the same price within steps of this property. (Now, in fairness, the owners planned a major needed renovation after 2018, but the economics associated with the pandemic caused them to delay that, and now the Paris Olympics are delaying it until after 2024 and it seems like they are unwilling to spend any money on maintaining the property until the major renovation. I have stayed in economy hotels that are not in as bad condition as this hotel.) I will not stay at this hotel until it is completely renovated - nor at these prices should you.

Very underwhelming 1 night stay in what is probably the worst Westin I’ve ever stayed at. Room interior is very dated and basic. Sensor-controlled mini-bar in the year 2022 - really? Give us space to put a shot of water in the fridge over gouging us for more cash. I gave up on the trickle from the shower and had a bath instead. I know that Paris is a major destination so they can get away with sky high rates but for €380 for 1 night this is really feeble. I would not return. Breakfast staff are the redeeming feature.

We just returned from our stay at the Westin Vendome. We have stayed at this hotel several times over the last 20 years but will not likely stay there again. The hotel is in a superb location but is in need of major renovation /decor refresh. Hotel rooms need to be completely updated (old carpet and furniture, walls need painting). This hotel is not 5 star. No turndown service, no concierge (just guest relations who will make a dinner reservation but do not offer any advice /suggestions). I hope Bonvoy invests some money into this property as it is too dated and run down. One positive note is that Mirkho at the front reception was excellent.

We loved this hotel! Great location My first time staying in first arrondissement. Across the street from Toulleries. The breakfast was excellent. The bar had great snacks and dinner. The room had everything one could want. The concierge was very helpful and knowledgeable and spoke excelled English as did the clerks, but not the staff. All the staff was great! only complaint is the magnetic elevator/room key which needed replacement 4 times. They said they are working on it.

This hotel can be summed up as faded glory. On the plus side, the reception staff are fantastic and some of the best I’ve ever encountered. The rooms are a decent size for central Paris and the location is spot on. But there were just too many issues. The key card system is old, and the cards stop working all the time, even if you keep them well away from your mobile phone. The biggest issue I had though was with housekeeping. My room was filthy on arrival and remained so through my five night stay. The carpet was dirty from the outset and not hoovered once during my stay. I could write my name in the dust on the bedside table. Towels were not fully replenished each day. The tiling around the bath/shower was mouldy. At a price point of several hundred Euro per night, you just don’t expect these sort of basics to be wrong. Sorry, I won’t be returning.

My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at The Westin Paris-Vendome. We were in a Superior Room on the second floor with an inside (the building) view. We tried to upgrade to a room with an "outside" view, but the hotel was full. The location of the hotel itself, close to many wonderful and varied attractions and multiple Metro stops, more than made up for the room assignment. It was also a pleasure to be able to open up the window in our room for fresh air. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable, with a contemporary style armoire with a hanging section, shelves, and drawers that held our clothes. There were two hair dryers, one attached to the wall in the bathroom and the other a stand alone that I used in front of the mirror outside the bathroom while my husband was shaving. Our only suggestion for the bathroom would be to improve the position of the grab bar (or add an additional grab bar on the side) in the bathtub. The bathtub is very high, and at a certain age one must be very cautious getting in and getting out of such a high tub. We would stay at The Westin Paris-Vendome again.
