We were very unfortunately placed in this hotel via Hotwire. It promised us a 3-star experience similar to "Embassy Suites" which is the biggest load of false advertising crap I've ever heard. The location is fantastic--no complaints there from us and upon first arrival we were very much looking forward to a quirky, but authentic Parisian experience. We waited for...

I was very disappointed with this hotel; it has a 3 star rating so maybe my expectations were a bit high. We stayed in a room with a double bed, but was given two single beds pushed together. So in the middle there was about an inch gap, which made it pretty uncomfortable, pillows were not great either. For a...

This is one of the worst hotel I stayed in, very bad rooms and so small, the bathroom are tiny as well What made things worse that I went out and when I returned back I found a naked person having a shower in my room!!! Could not imagine, after I passed over the shock, he told , that the...

I'm a bit confused by the majority of reviews that I'm reading on TripAdvisor of this hotel...My husband and I just got back home after spending 3 nights here and we had a fantastic stay.... 1. The staff were really great. The reception guy was so welcoming when we arrived, he let us practise our French with him and the...

I spent 4 nights in this hotel. It is very expensive yet so cheap. The person I spoke with at the reception was nice and it is close to the Sacré-Cœur, but that is about as good as it gets. The room's floor wasn't even, so when you're tired you get seasick pretty easily, there were stains on the wall...

Mold and mildew stains on the walls with peeling wallpaper. Minuscule rooms with a bathroom you can't use with the door shut. Horrid, overpowering detergent smell to cover up the mildew smell. Physically do not fit in the shower. Advertised as two twins on Expedia as a 3 star. Small double that slopes drastically towards the middle, definitely NOT a...

Small rooms, there is no place in the bathroom for a normal person (I am 1.77m tall). We asked for two singles beds clearly at the reservation and recieve one double bed, at the front desk they just said...we can´t do nothing, there is no more room. Stay here will definitelly ruin a magical city as Paris. However beds are...

We didn't have a horrible stay here - the beds are clean and decently comfortable and for the price that's about all you can expect. There are a few pros and cons: Pros: - Clean beds - Nice staff - Cheap price - Close to metro stops and Gare du nord station - Some great cafes close by Cons: -...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
