The pros of this hotel are as follows: The reception staff speak English, and are very friendly and helpful. The woman at reception printed my Disneyland Tickets which was a real life saver. The location is good. Its a 10 minute walk from the Denfert-Rouchereau station, which can get you to Disneyland, and connects straight to CDG Airport. It was sunny when we went, so we walked most places. It's a 10 minute walk to the catacombs, and within an hour walk to the eiffel tower, notre dam, and the louvre. The room has everything you need, having a double bed, a single bed, a TV, a desk, 2 bedside tables, a kettle and a hairdryer. And the housekeeping comes to tidy up daily. On the other hand: The rooms look pretty dated, but they're not too bad. But the walls are pretty thin, so if anyone makes a noise in the hotel, you're going to hear it. Breakfast is €10 per person per day, and although we didn't have it, judging by the reviews it's the usual cereals, croissants, etc. So you're probably best going to one of the many local cafes for breakfast. The reception isn't always manned, which is a problem if you need anything outside the working hours. It's open in the morning, closes for a few hours in the afternoon, and then opens again 4:30-9:30. We got a triple room (1 double and 1 single bed) for €80 a night, which is a decent price for the location. But anywhere else a hotel like this would be worth nowhere near as much, so it's slightly over priced. Usually I'd give this a 4*, but in the morning after spending our first night here, after taking a shower, a sewage type smell started coming out of the bathroom. It was disgusting, and so bad we had to leave our room. Luckily we were on our way out anyway. We told reception about this on our way out in the morning, and it was fixed by the time we came back in the night, but it did ruin the stay a little.

Below some bad and good points of Hotel Aviatic. Overall, I would not recommend it, and I don't think I will be staying there again: Positive: Water boiler and hair dryer in the room. Location more or less convenient to take different lines of metro and RER B (my main reason to stay there). The bed was not too bad. Negative points but still acceptable for a 1-star hotel: Ugly creepy wallpaper and paintings, no proper door in bathroom. Walls are thin as paper and you hear everything going on in the next rooms. Room to an inner yard that is permanently illuminated very brightly during night and curtains no thick enough. Reception opens at 8 so you cannot leave your luggage there if you need to leave early in the morning and pick up your luggage later. Negative and NOT acceptable, even for a 1-star hotel: Dirty in general, including the toilet seat! Pipes extremely loud when people from upstairs flush. Every step of people going upstairs sounds like an elephant walking in the room above you. Room doors are extremely loud when closing, every time a guest enters their room you will wake up. Therefore, impossible to sleep without waking up every hour by a terribly loud noise. Largely overpriced: In the rooms it says "99 euros single room + 10 euros breakfast". I paid 72 euros including breakfast because I took some offer. 72 euros is overpriced. In my opinion, the room itself is not worth more than 40 euros. Of course Paris is expensive, but I know other hotels in the same area 10 times better and for ~40-50 euros the room.

For medical reasons, I had to cancel my trip 3 days before the date. I tried to propose the hotel to move my reservation another day of their choice. But I have been unable to reach them by email: they never answered. When I got them by phone, they refused my request. So I had to pay for the night because the reservation was not refundable anymore. While it was perfectly their right, this was also not very businesslike and flexible. During this period, they would have found a new customer in minutes for the room...

The hotel is located in a good location, but far away from Concord Square. The metro station is 100m from the hotel. The reception staff is friendly, they speak English. The staircase leading to the room is a narrow and steep gut, there is no lift. The rooms are satisfactory. In the room there is a kettle and every day is supplemented with tea and a cupboard. Hygiene is kept every day, it's very clean, towels are changed every day. The bathroom is very small, instead of the door there is a paravan. Sound intimacy can not be achieved. The hairdryer is in the room. The walls are very thin, it's heard that the neighbor is walking around the room. The door is very noisy closing. Breakfast is modest, but for the price expected. By some croissant and cakes, completely without meat. Staff do not speak English. Public parking is possible in front of the hotel. Of course, if you find a place. All in all, service and comfort have met expectations for paid accommodation. No bugs and other insects like someone wrote.

Infrastructure. A small hotel with 30+ rooms in a safe area of the city with good infrastructure. It's quite convenient to get there from Charles de Gaulle: at the airport first take the suburban train RER, blue line B, get to the station Denfert-Rochereau , change to the 4th metro line and ride one stop to the Mouton-Duvernet station, then from the metro it takes 2 minutes walk to the hotel. The same 4th metro line goes to the Montparnasse train station, Latin Quarter, Cite island with the Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris, Hotel de Ville and much more. Across the street from the hotel there is the City supermarket owned by the Carrefour network, the supermarket even has a public microwave oven to the left of the exit in case you need to warm up the purchased food. The neighboring street named by General Le Clerc is full of branded shops, on the side streets of it there are many catering points. Breakfast is not bad, it is served from 7 to 10 am and consists of croissants, muesli, muffins, cookies, jams, tea-coffee-cocoa from the machine, in the refrigerator there is cheese, yoghurts, butter. The personnel is few and friendly, but speaks only French, some knowledge of English is only from at the reception. The working time of the reception is outlandish as per our standards: from 7 to 13 and from 16-30 to 21-30 (on Sunday from 9 to 13 and from 17-30 to 21-00). The rest of the time you can get to the hotel only with the keys. Before the arrival, we received an e-mail from the hotel about this time of working hours and stating that during the non-working hours the key can be obtained in the machine by entering the last name on which the room is booked or special code given in the letter. We arrived just during the "noon siesta" at the reception desk and, having entered the surname, did receive a confirmation from the machine that such a reservation exists and also that our room number is such and such. That's all. No matter how much we tried (we typed the name and number of the reservation a hundred times, tried unsuccessfully to pay, etc.), we did not get any key. Options for the introduction of a special code is not given by machine does at all. We waited on the sidewalk in the heat at the entrance for an hour and a half until the receptionist appeared and gave us the keys. We did not hear any apologies for the inconvenience. Room. The reality turned out to be much worse than photographs. What looks like walls covered in leather on the photo, in fact, is wallpaper. There is no elevator in the four-story building (note this when planning heavy luggage). In our triple room, apart from the beds, there was a table, a chair, a TV set and 2 bedside tables. All the furniture is cheap, old and random, as if it was bought on the second-hand market on the occasion. The room has a small electric kettle with cups, sugar and tea, but there is no refrigerator, no air conditioner, no closet (instead there is a bar with wire hangers behind the partition). Our windows looked into the small narrow courtyard, where any noise is amplified many times, i.e. the quietness depends only on the behavior of the guests. The guests are mostly unpretentious and from third countries. The room was awfully hot inside. Mattresses are very soft, and instead of pillows there are some rolls-sausages, on which it is extremely inconvenient to sleep. We had a bathroom in the room (shower, sink, toilet, mirror, hairdryer), but there are no shelves, no hooks for towels, no toilet paper holder (there is a paper, however), not even soap, not to mention other amenities (we had to wash our hands with shower gel from the dispenser in the shower). Daily cleaning. I have no idea how often do they change bed linens as we stayed only for a few days. Summary - the price of the hotel is overpriced, if you take into account the quality of service. We would not return to this hotel.
